Why is Instagram is never really mentioned in these kind of articles? Most people know facebook is fucking awful but I don't think a lot of people realize that Instagram is exactly the same. They seem to go more under the radar maybe because of the more simplistic and innocent looking UI.

Instagram has the advantage of being really easy to disengage from, at least in my opinion; because sharing text is difficult and unwieldy, drama tends to happen a lot less, at least in the circles I find myself in. I basically only use it to keep up with friends and see product announcements from synth companies. That kind of limited engagement wasn't possible when I had a Facebook account.

With facebook you know when your spending too much time scrolling but insta just fly under the radar.
