I never stay logged in on my desktop + notebook

I'm using Firefox on Arch with ublock origin, umatrix, decentraleyes, darkreader, bypass paywalls, old reddit redirect.
None of these should affect Tildes in any way. but still, Firefox seems not to be able to keep me logged in, and everytime i open Tildes in a new tab, I'm logged out. Sometimes it remembers the theme (solarized dark) sometimes it does not and only remembers it after a refresh, and sometimes it just dont.
I dont even know where to look for a solution, especially as this seems to be Tildes specific as no other website seems to have this problems. an I'm pretty shure it has something to do with my Firefox, as it is that way on both of my computers.

edit: solution was to delete all tildes.net cookies

I don't know, but you might be able to narrow it down by creating a new Firefox profile and enabling these extensions one at a time until it breaks.

Strict or Custom Tracking protection might be nuking the credentials. Could also have Cookies and Site Data set to auto-delete on Firefox shut down.

Could also also be leftovers from the last time you opened Developer Console, if you open that at all. There's an option under the network section there to disable caching for all requests.

I don't know, it's just so weird that it only affects tildes, and does so on two different installations.

I seem to remember someone else having very similar problems ages ago, but I can't find the post anymore. IIRC it was something to do with a corrupted/malformed expired cookie, and after they deleted them and logged back in to get fresh ones the issue was resolved.

In Firefox, if you go to Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data, search for Tildes and removed all the Tildes related cookies (should be 2 of them), then log back in, it might fix it. If not, let me know and I can walk you through a few more things to try.

The programmer in me is quite curious as to how a cookie can get poisoned and have such an effect, though.

IIRC it may have had something to do with Tildes cookies originally being set to never expire, but then that being changed at some point?... or the user fiddling with their date/time and their browser getting confused about how to treat "expired" (but not really) cookies after that... or the issue somehow being caused by and/or propagating over Firefox Sync. It was a long time ago though, and so I could just be mixing up the memories I have from a whole bunch of similar issues. :/

In any case, it definitely appears it was a cookie issue of some sort, so at least it was an easy enough solve.
