Question on sorting for new comments on old posts
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but is there a way to search which would list comments made on any topic in chronological order regardless of how old the original post was made? Meaning, even if a post was one of the first on Tilde, if someone commented within it in the last few minutes, it would be displayed before a newly created post that hadn't had a comment in several hours.
I tried all of the sorting options and didn't seem to find one that performed this function. Any assistance would be appreciated.
That's All Activity sort. There's no limit on how old a post is, if someone comments, it'll be at the top of the page.
Also make sure the "from" period is set to "all time".
Are your own posts excluded from this method of sorting? Or perhaps the website marks things you've already viewed as "read" and removes them from that sorting method? I could have sworn I tried using that function, but my recent post on FF16 didn't seem to put it to the top of the page.
No, All Activity; All Time is exactly that. It's possible that someone else commented on other things between you posting and the front page refreshing, which would result in your new post not being in the top spot by the time you view it.
Thanks again for the timely answer. I'm glad the function exists as i'd like to use it as it allows conversation threads to live on beyond a day or three of initial discussion.
Yeah, it's definitely my default sort, with forays into New to catch stuff that's pushed down by faster, bigger conversation threads.
