[SOLVED] Did I read someone on here mention something about brokered CD's? Also I seem to stink at searching Tildes.

        I remembered writing about it before and searched my own comments for "CD" from my profile page. (A nice side-effect of commenting so much on Tildes is that it's sort of like a personal archive.)...

        Regarding CD's, if you hold to maturity you get the interest rate offered, the same as buying it a bank directly. But you get your choice of banks and some offer higher rates.

        But I don't buy them anymore. A fund that buys US Treasuries seems better for me since it's exempt from federal taxes.

          I know very well what a finance!CD is, but I clicked into this thread and made it all the way to this comment before realizing you weren't talking about music!CDs. Someone out there probably...
