Should user statistics be publicly viewable?
Should the site show how many registered users there are, how many unique visitors there are, and how many people are subscribed to the different branches?

I'm a firm believer that more data is better so yes. As long as it doesn't cut into development time too much.
Well, that shouldn't be too much of an issue once it goes Free ;) On that note, I know "it's done when it's done" but is there a timeline for open-sourcing currently @deimos?
From 5 days ago:
So no specific timeline... but Soon™ and when it does the repo will be available on gitlab.com/tildes (currently looking into repo mirroring on github too).
Thanks!
I'm definitely interested in seeing how Tildes grows over time. Also, if it takes off, that data may be useful to future sociologists studying the dynamics of internet communities.
Yes please. This is another one of the great things about not being beholden to investors. You can be very open.
In addition to normal user stats, I would love some aggregate data on the click through rates of link posts. I am curious what percentage of people actually read the content. Another weird but interesting metric would be to see a total count of users that did not click the link but commented.
I believe that promoting actually reading the linked articles could be core to creating the types of discussions that Tildes wants. So this would be an aggregated score on that for the entire community.
Edit: spelling, extra words
