Embedded video player

Hi,

It would be nice to have a privacy aware youtube/vimeo/etc video player (by this i mean, not the official one), not sure if this is feasible, but it would be a really good feature (i remember that there was a website that implemented an opensource player, but i don't recall the name)

    that seems like an unnecessary feature, to be honest. i know i'm not expecting tildes to be a video hosting service.

      i never said i wanted tildes to be a video hosting service :) but to access external services it would be nice to have a player that respects peoples privacy

        ah, sorry, i wasn't sure what you were asking. are you looking for a media player built into tildes that actually plays the youtube / vimeo video?

          I've seen private sites implement a proxy so that YouTube itself doesn't actually get to see your IP, only the site's.

          yep, exactly :) kinda like a mix from youtube-dl to get the link and then a simple html5 player
