Editing tags?
I have posted a few topics on tildes so far, and someone edited the tags on it. I looked at that person's profile but couldn't see any indication that they were a mod. I am aware of the coming 'trysf' system, but I think it hasn't been implemented yet. My question: how does one edit tags? Is this a certain account age required?
Read this thread: Users can now be (manually) granted permissions to re-tag topics, move them between groups, and edit titles
A couple of months ago, Deimos started giving some people the ability to:
This is based on his personal choice to trust someone and manually give them the ability, rather than an algorithmic trust system that allocates these abilities automatically. It's an early step towards the more complex trust and moderation system that will develop over time.
If you want these abilities, you could try posting in that thread to request them, or even sending @Deimos a private message to ask him directly. There are no minimum criteria required to request these abilities, but...
(From the post linked at the top of my comment here.)
However, Deimos does seem to lean towards a "trust first, revoke later" approach, which shouldn't make it too difficult for most people to get these abilities.
If someone has these abilities, there is no indication on their profile, which is a deliberate decision by Deimos.
Fair enough. I don't care about the ability myself, I was just wondering how the system worked.
I believe some users have been granted the privilege manually by Deimos, when he introduced the feature.
