Is it possible to create your own communities (sub-tildes?) on Tildes?

Tags: ask, groups

Just came here from Reddit, wondered if this was a thing.

Also is there any type of "karma" system?

No, it is not possible for users to create their own communities. All groups and sub-groups must be created (for now) by the creator/founder/god Deimos. Even in the future, the ability to create groups and sub-groups will be greatly restricted. It will not be open to all and sundry.

There is not yet a karma system. However, there will be a trust/reputation system for moderation.

By the way, I moved this topic to ~tildes, which is the group for all discussions and questions about Tildes itself. You might want to browse this group: a lot of questions you have (and didn't know you have!), have probably already been asked and answered here.

    And, welcome to Tildes.

One could. Indeed, one has: I believe @Kat made this observation a few months back. (It's still amusing, though.)
