How to start a new group?

I want to start a discussion about books and reading, how do I go about starting one? I only see an option to start a topic in one of the existing groups.

    At the moment users can't make new groups. Hold on a sec there was a topic about this some days ago Edit: As the creator of this site said in this post a book group will made.

      Yes, they are! This ~tildes is one group. ~movies is another group, as is ~science. Groups is a feature. Creating groups is not yet a feature (unless you're Deimos!).

        Click Tildes on the top left to bring yourself to the home page, click "Browse the list of groups" button on the right of the screen, pick a group you want to post on, then click post a new topic...

          Thanks, I was looking for groups which aren't on the list, turns out I've gotta wait for it to be made.

            You can use ~talk or ~misc in the meantime. New groups will probably be started when there are enough tags in general groups. So if there are many posts in ~talk that are tagged "books", it will...

So if there are many posts in ~talk that are tagged "books", it will likely count towards the creation of said group. (But ~books will come soon anyway, it's planned.)

              Yes, that seems like the way to go with now. Since we have ~tv and ~movies, its only a matter of time before ~ books makes it way.

        You could post discussions to ~talk or ~misc if you can't find the "right" group for it.
