I don't think poor taste should be excluded, but obviously terrible stuff like "i69kids" or your example should be disallowed. I think for now it would work on a case-by-case basis.

Yeah, I mostly just consider it as part of the general "don't be an asshole" umbrella. It really hasn't come up much at all. I vaguely remember asking one or two people to change their username...

I vaguely remember asking one or two people to change their username (and changing it for them), but it was a long time ago and I can't even remember what the original names were any more.
It's another one of those things that I don't think really needs to be defined as a "rule", since it usually just ends up with the rules-lawyering of "but what does offensive mean?!" The type of person that thinks picking an offensive username is a good idea probably isn't going to be a good fit on Tildes anyway (or will never want to register in the first place).
@alyaza has it about right. I'm not going to tolerate people using slurs as slurs, but it can be reasonable to use them while discussing things like the subject of hate speech. As always, context...

in an insult sense i'm 99% sure the answer is yes, but in a sense where it makes context, no. plenty of people around here have used slurs in context around here, including myself.

Tangential question: Does tildes take a hardline, zero tolerance stance on slurs in any capacity?

Ironically it's you posting this. Not that it's offensive, but 'suspended' may be confusing if you're new here and not sure what's going on ;P
