Profile customisation
So I was wondering if there was any plans for adding more profile customisation in the future maybe being able to add a profile picture and adding a follow option or a colour option ?

A follow option might make the site too much like social media. Don't know about profile pictures, but some people here would probably dislike that feature.
I find some users post better stuff than others so being able to follow them and see their stuff regularly I think would be good
Ehhh, I feel like that starts to push things towards being centered around people instead of content, and that feels sketchy to me. Maintaining a content focus means said content gets attention based more on its own merit, rather than the popularity of the person posting it.
I'd be opposed to profile pictures, but maybe simply being able to choose a single colour that decorates your profile page in a simple way would be a cute addition. Given the colours in the logo, I think it would be on-brand.
I'm not sure this should leak out to anything other than a profile page though. Maybe at most a small square of that colour next to your username, but I think this kind of thing would just confuse new users (eg. mistaking a certain colour as moderators or admins or similar)
If I may carry over a Reddit tradition:
Username checks out.
I like your idea. It has something.
That said, I can't see this sort of personalization adding much. Is it meaningful, to ascribe a color to yourself? What happens when, inevitably, there are users of the very same color? The latter might lead to confusion if you rely at all on color for user identification (because you've grown used to seeing the same name alongside the same color).
I think that's a nice personal touch that wouldn't impact the rest of the site while giving people more room to express themselves.
On your username or on your personal page
Makes me think of Discord and how you can color your username.
