In the wake of the Vanmoof bankruptcy, I'm interested in your recommendations/experience related to ebike conversion kits that respect right-to-repair.

Most all-in-one kits aren't designed to be repair/maintenance friendly, whether that's an inability to buy replacement parts, using proprietary connectors, or requiring software that's not profitable to maintain long-term. I want to build something that respects me as a customer, but I'm not sure where to start.

The linked Louis Rossmann video has some suggestions for DIY parts, though I've never used them (Grin Technologies Phaserunner, em3ev batteries and Bafang motors).

Have any of you put something similar together or have experience with these parts? UK/Europe-based suppliers would be ideal for shipping costs.
