I'm in Netherlands for work. Any recommendations?

I'm from the US in Delft for work and am free tomorrow without plans. I'm terrible traveling by myself and often don't don't do too much. I have walked around Delft. Any recommendations for what to do?

Do you enjoy museums? Go to Naturalis in Leiden.

Enjoy the nightlife? Go to Amsterdam!

More of a relaxed, but still classic Netherlands vibe (with fewer tourists than Amsterdam)? Visit Utrecht!

Perhaps more in the mood for the old timey windmills? Go to Zaandam!

I need a bit more to give a specific recommendation, but this is at least something.

My biggest issue is getting going. This along with a few other suggestions at least got on a train to Amsterdam. At a minimum check it out and eat some food.

Utrecht has the Museum Kwartier (museum quarter) that has a bunch of cool ones. Utrecht by itself is great for a visit and stroll past the canals, especially with the unusually nice weather for the year, and because the city is so walkable you can easily combine it with a museum visit.

Of course, Amsterdam has some beautiful, prestigious museums so you can't go wrong there.

So much tourism in Amsterdam. Might be better to just go to Leiden! Nice atmosphere there and good mix of gender (Delft is like 90% male).

You could take a train into Amsterdam. There are all kinds of things to do there from museums to canal boat tours of all kinds and awesome places to eat. Depends on what you like to do. I think...

I think the train ride is about an hour or so depending on what kind of train you take.
If you do just be very careful walking around as the bicycle riders are numerous and fast!

I'm personally boycotting airbnb, but they market travel experiences. Meetup and Bumble can be interesting depending on the country.

CptBlueBear already gave a some good ideas, but if you want more ideas, giving some more specifics as to what kind of stuff you tend to enjoy, we may be able to give you more suggestions.

Not sure how much time you have, but don't skip out on Rotterdam. Not your typical Dutch city but very unique. Visit the Markthal and the Cube houses (very near to each other and walkable 15-20 min from the central station). Rotterdam has some awesome architecture. Rent a bike and explore, ride over the Erasmus bridge, great views from there.
