I just watched all of Shoresy, the spinoff of Letterkenny featuring the hilarious trash-talking hockey player.

It was far better than I expected it to be, and has a lot of what made Letterkenny great, with the writing moving in a new direction. It feels like a breath of fresh air that lets Keeso stretch his wings and do what he does best. Shoresy, the character, was great, and not the asshole I'd expected him to be written as from the perspective you see him in Letterkenny. It looks like they're going for a full series, so I'm actually excited to see what direction the show goes in.

If you want a trip, check out 19-2, starring Keeso as a cop. The tone is almost completely serious and has some truly startling episodes like S02E01. Its a good show on its own and you get some...

My fascination with Taskmaster has eroded a little bit. I don’t know if it’s this particular season or if I just kind of got sick of it. In fairness I did binge watch all the seasons over the course of a couple of weeks. And the re-watched a lot of episodes, and tasks on YouTube, over the course of maybe two months. So maybe I feel a little burnt out by it. The reality is as well that I’m not used to having to wait a week in-between episodes. I’m so used to just watching and watching, and I think that got me used to a certain momentum that has been lost by having to wait for them to come out.

Still, I’m madly in love with Bridget Christie.

I find it hard to binge more than a few* seasons of any show. My comfort zone is 2-3 seasons with some leeway, otherwise a show loses its appeal.

Coincidentally I just finished Kongen befaler (Norwegian Taskmaster) on youtube and started watching Dag and the protagonist, Dag, is none other than Atle Antonsen himself - the Norwegian taskmaster.

Dag is a dark, harsh mixture of dry (to the maximum) comedy and drama with content that some will find upsetting, but there are some interesting threads concerning mental health and philosophy. They have absolutely no qualms about stomping all over sensitive issues, which is refreshing to me. I don't seek it out, but I don't mind controversy when it isn't glorifying the subject, I don't think Dag does.

I'm not sure what Norwegian TV is like in general, so maybe a similar show couldn't or wouldn't be made today, but I'm mid way through season 2 and I'm in for the remainder for sure.

      * I've managed to re-watch all 6 seasons of Community but that was my limit.

I watched the first episode of Kenobi yesterday (no spoilers). I'm happy with where they're taking it so far, and definitely intrigued to watch more. With Mando, now Kenobi (Boba Fett was enjoyable, but the second half of the season, whilst still good was a bit problematic), I have to wonder whether Disney have figured out how to do justice to the Star Wars IP.... I don't think we'll get a definitive answer to that until they make some more films though.

David Simon's new series (created and written by), We Own This City wrapped, but I haven't seen anybody talk about it.

Chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force — and the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work.

Based on the book "We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption" by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton, this gritty drama chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force. It exposes the corruption and moral collapse that befalls an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest are championed at the expense of actual police work. Created and written by David Simon, creator of "The Wire," and George Pelecanos, production took place in Baltimore.

    Should be good.

In other news, Strange New Worlds is keeping up the quality, overall. For new Trek, I'm pretty happy. Disco and Picard were a let down.

The Boys is also out -- which is exciting. I've got some catching up to do.
