I'm pleasantly surprised by how much they're leaning into the New Zealand natural vistas like the Jackson films did, but it makes me question how they're going to handle the change of filming...

I find myself curious about that as well, but I wonder if they shot a whole lot of spare establishing shots for future use. As a Brit, I can attest that we have a couple of nice vistas knocking...

Yeah, most people who have never been to the UK may not realize it, but Wales and Scotland both have some surprisingly beautiful, remote, and mountainous areas.

Perhaps it's not the best place to wonder about this, but I do find it pretty fascinating that one of the most expensive TV shows ever are put in the hands of two dudes who literally had no other experience in the industry. How does one even land a job like that? Is it because the showrunners in this case are just in name only and it's the executives with the deep pockets that run the show? But even then, surely you can find people with more experience who would be OK with those terms, no? That's basically the way Marvel Universe is run and they work with pretty good and established writers.
Colour me suitably keen, this looks seriously pretty!

I've been to the UK, and Scotland in particular is a gorgeous country, but I'm not sure I'd ever mistake it for New Zealand.
