Have you watched any TV shows recently you want to discuss? Any shows you want to recommend or are hyped about? Feel free to discuss anything here.
Please just try to provide fair warning of spoilers if you can.
Atlanta has ended.
I've not seen a show that made the ordinary unordinary and unordinary ordinary. You never knew what to expect from an episode and it was exhilarating. I'm sad that it ended but also happy that it ended on such a good note. I'll carry some piece of it with me.
I watched Reboot recently, and it was absolutely hilarious. When I stumbled on it my hopes weren't high, but I gave it a shot and they absolutely nailed it. The writing was deep and the characters felt real, and it actually had me laughing out loud multiple times an episode. There was something deeply enjoyable about watching a show about rebooting a sitcom and writing it well and seeing it being packaged and delivered in such a well written and hilarious show. Plus, Johnny Knoxville being a good actor? Having only seen him in Jackass (as far as I recall), I did not have high hopes when I realised he was one of the main cast, but he far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it, doubly so for anyone interested in the writing/directing process.
Johnny Knoxville is surprisingly good. My favorite movies he's done are not the best, but he's good: Walking Tall, The Ringer, and even Dukes of Hazzard. It's like Jackass is a passion project for him, but he could've been huge as an actor.
so... The Katering Show is great.. and if you want more and more extreme, check out Get Krack!n -- its great.
Andor is great.
It's a good time for TV.
edit: I might as well drop in some others --
Upright is one of my favourite tv shows ever. No spoilers but those characters are great and it's just really well done. She's a fantastic actress and he does really well too.
nice! that’s high-praise, too. the trailer looks great.
edit: S02 started!
I hung out with my brothers and SIL yesterday, and we put on Inside Man on Netflix. It was so fucking good, and horrible to watch. Stanley Tucci was phenomenal, and I'll admit I haven't actually seen David Tenant do anything like that role (I missed the boat on Broadchurch and should watch it), but watching his decay was engrossing. I thought of it like a Coen Brothers movie without the humor: Your worst idea about something going wrong is usually right, unless its far worse. I thought Stanely Tucci as this sort of Hannibal Lector meets law professor character was fascinating to watch.
