I found it interesting how they added the new dimension of long range fungal communication to the way the infection works. But I’m worried this will be a detriment to the logic of the world. Now there can be infected alerted from anywhere at any time. But of course using this plot device frequently would get frustrating and it would lose its tension. So I expect it to feel like a contrivance the one or two other times it comes up. The way it was used in this episode makes me feel it was an unnecessary addition.
But that’s my only complaint. Overall it was a good episode, but definitely weaker than the first.

I don't think it will be a detriment to the logic of the world, there were a lot of moments in the games where you got rushed by a horde for little to no reason other than someone made a noise and suddenly two dozen run from around a corner. A clicker horde just waiting for someone to mess up around the corner seems more contrived than some facsimile of a fungal network alerting system.
Besides it's only episode 2, it's probably going to be important enough that they had to introduce and show the concept at some point, and it still resulted in a much more interesting moment than the game had.
Especially since the game provided a less potentially problematic threat at this part of the game. That being said, this approach was definitely more high stakes and emotional than the in-game...

Good points
