I honestly don't think this is a great idea at this moment in time. If it had happened 5 years ago, maybe, but we've already got an off-brand Star Trek parody and from what I understand Star Trek Lower Decks is a really well received on-brand star trek comedy. It's a program that would normally fill a niche but this niche is already filled. On the other hand, Science Fiction as a whole feels a whole lot less niche than it used to be, and if this show is legitimately good it'll get people interested nonetheless. It just has to be good.
That being said, if they get a blonde Sigourney Weaver, I might just have to subscribe to Paramount+ just to see it.
