There was a comic book run that was pretty good. As far as actual crossover potential, this latest iteration of the Doctor offhandly mentioned that they should visit “Star Trek,” so who knows.

The crossover will take place as a limited-time event beginning 1st August in two mobile games: Star Trek: Lower Decks - The Badgey Directive and Doctor Who: Lost in Time.

So let me get this this straight: They made a big flashy trailer showing beloved moments and quotes from 60 years of great, almost entirely live-action television and movies. All to tease a generic pay-to-win mobile game. Which features the not-so-iconic crew of a Star Trek cartoon nobody watches, meeting the also-animated five-Doctors-ago Doctor from a show that never does animation.

Who thought that was a good idea?

Honestly I still call myself a Trekkie for historical reasons but they lost me back in 2001. I can’t say I’ve been impressed by anything that’s borne the name since then. I’ll leave the Doctor Who commentary to that fandom and spare you all a screed about Steven Moffat. Regardless, this is a new low for both franchises. Ugh.

Totally agree. Nothing irks me more than the fact that paramount has, inarguably, one of the most iconic and impactful cinematic universes ever and does nothing but pump out mediocre generic sci-fi, at best. Or, more frequently, total garbage.

It really feels like whoever is making the decisions behind the scenes has never actually watched anything pre-Abrams Star Trek.

I played The Badgey Directive for a bit. It's one of those collectathon mobile games intended to get you to watch lots and lots of ads (or pay absurd amounts for mtx currency -- seriously, the prices are ridiculous, I don't understand the sort of people who would spend $20 on a 3 day event). The story content is fun, but in general it's really grindy and becomes unfun very quickly.

Eastside Games makes what seems like a dozen games that are all really just reskinned from each other with story for the relevant game theme.

Sisko was in there briefly towards the end. But yeah they skipped him at the beginning.
