I thought from the early outset that this was going to be one of the rare American shows that learns from its British counter-parts to end early, and end high (for example, The Good Place - an absolutely masterfully executed show).

They failed the latter (this is a silly sports TV show,

Click to view the hidden text give us the ending where Richmond wins something, and Roy and Keeley end happy
), and now they look like they're doing nether. *Urgh*.

While I don’t encourage a 4th season, I do encourage anyone who hasn’t seen the show to give it a watch. It’s short, sweet, and touches on some topics that you might find fresh to the dramedy genre.

Ouch. This reminds me of the demise of Skins. This was a teen show, and each season was a year of British high school. Since high school in the UK is 2 years, it was supposed to have only two seasons. However, the show got popular, and they ordered a third season (7 were made in total).

The premise of the show was high-school!! So they started with brand new characters, one of them was the younger sister of the previous character, it was totally different show... It ruined for me. They should have left it after two seasons. The show was complete!

Ted Lasso is the same. They should stop squeezing money from its success. It was a three-act story, and the three acts were told. Whatever they do, I'll watch it because I love Ted Lasso and cant resist to watch it, but I know I'm going to be disappointed. There is no way they can do a Ted Lasso season 4 without feeling like The Matrix Resurrection.

They should do like Vince Gilligan did with Breaking Bad. Do a prequel show like Better Call Saul. I would love to see a coach beard prequel, or something like that.

I just recently watched Skins for the first time, and as soon as we got to S3 episode 1 my partner and I just dropped it. The new cast were awful, just a bunch of total skeeves.

But... It doesn't sound like this is a rush job. It's only greenlit when Sudeikis himself thinks the story is good enough to tell.
Similar to Bluey, I appreciate when it happens since it almost universally means quality is high and will stay high.

Like @goose said, cautiously optimistic. That's the best I can do.

Wasn't Sudeikis the one running the show in the last season? Bill Lawrence went to develop some other show and Sudeikis took the reigns. That's at least how I remember it. And I didn't enjoy it...

That's at least how I remember it. And I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the previous seasons.

I'd call it a coin flip whether this is good or bad, hopefully obviously good but I'm probably not going to get back into it unless I hear some really good buzz.

Ted Lasso inches towards a possible season 4

I'm a huge fan of Ted Lasso, but have mixed feelings on a potential season 4. Assuming the quality could stand up to seasons 1-3, I'd be all for it. I don't know of any hard feelings with the way season 3 ended, but with the significant roles played, I also worry that any major actor not wanting to come back would really compromise the quality of the show.

But given that Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Walton), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) have all agreed to come on board, I'm cautiously optimistic!
