StarCraft: Brood War is the game I thought of first when I read the title to this thread. Arguably the first eSport, and one that still has a thriving pro scene. Brood War was my childhood, and it still holds up to this day. I think the remaster that Blizzard put out a few years ago was one of the best things they have ever done for StarCraft, definitely better than the dumpster fire that was WC3:Reforged.

It was a super fun job but also super sad how crazy addicted all the regulars are to sugar and/or coffee. I don't drink caffeine drinks anymore.

I'm really excited for this one. Finally looks like 2D Mario is going to shake up the mechanics with the wonder seeds. Really looking forward to trying this out on launch.

I find them to be antithetical to the spirit of Tildes. We want users to read the article in question and discuss the contents of the entire article. I think quotes taken out of context of the entire article without any descriptive commentary from the OP will enable users to skip the article and just discuss the highlighted quotes.

They also don't really provide any insight as to why the OP thinks the article is relevant to discuss. I think the onus is on the OP when sharing a link to start the discussion, and throwing in a few quotes from the article is a lazy way to do that.

Akina Nakamori - Fushigi (art pop, ethereal wave, synthpop)
Fishmans - Long Season (dream pop, neo-psychedelia, progressive pop)
Mariah - Utakata no Hibi (art pop, new wave)
Midori Hara - MiDo (city pop, dance pop)

The rest of the Japanese music I listen to is either instrumental or they perform in English.

I spent a lot of time re-visiting Xiu Xiu's Ignore Grief this weekend. I listened to it when it first released earlier this year and really enjoyed it, but this album is more of a soundscape than a collection of songs. I had to put it in the try again later pile, as it's not what I was in the mood for even though I appreciated what it was doing. Honestly, I think it's my favourite thing they've ever done now that I've had a chance to listen a few more times.

Did the same thing with Kali Malone's new project, Does Spring Hide Its Joy. I find I tend to listen to this kind of really passive, reflective type of stuff far more in the summer. I'll just go lay down in a field, close my eyes, and think about what's going on in my life. Next thing you know, 3 hours has passed.

Probably my favourite active artist in hip-hop. I would kill to see him live. The new collab project with Danny Brown is straight fire.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard: Olympia, Montreal 2018
Absolutely phenomenal performance. These guys are true masters of their craft. How they are able to incorporate so many different ideas in such a unique way is never going to stop being a mystery to me. I'm just glad this band exists.

    The Knife: Metropolis, Montreal 2014
This ended up being the last tour The Knife did as they announced their breakup shortly after I got to see them. They had remixed a bunch of their older songs to work within the context of their Shaking the Habitual sound. It was just like one giant performance art piece with the entire set-list choreographed and performed with the sole intention of getting people to shake and move and dance and feel.

The Mars Volta: The Phoenix, Toronto 2008
This was peak Volta to me. This was when I was listening to them daily still, and just loved absolutely all of their music to death. I remember Cedric taking one of the symbols off the drum kit, climbing up onto the monitors hanging from the ceiling like a monkey, and just going absolutely bananas. In the brief moments that they would actually stop between songs, he'd apologize that he's not going as wild as usual, because he's feeling a bit sick but would take a few sips of tea to help his throat out. Man there is no way I would have been able to tell this man was sick because he gave the performance everything he had.

There have been many other amazing shows that I've been to but these are the first ones that pop into my head whenever this gets brought up in conversation.

Not really thrilled that the original creators have left the project since I last checked in. I'm also not sure that having child actors perform intricate choreography is going to be an easy sell on screen either. I do hope the series is well received but I think I'll just rewatch the animated series and its phenomenal sequel again.

There has been lots of great suggestions so far but here are a few I haven't seen mentioned that are worth a look:
Veritasium is a an educational channel that covers a range of topics from math, science, history and all sorts of curious phenomena.

Mathologer is a maths focused channel which provides indepth and thorough solutions for very tough problems. The channel is hosted by a math professor from Australia and is a joy to watch.

Summoning Salt makes really entertaining and in-depth documentaries about the history of speed runs for a variety of different videogames. You don't need to be familiar with speed running or even the games in question, he does an excellent job of keeping you interested and explaining how the various strategies have developed over time.
