TV Tuesdays Free Talk

I started watching Warrior on Netflix. The concept for the show was developed by Bruce Lee, and it's being produced by his daughter. The martial arts are fantastic, and a real nod to Lee's movies. I'm only two episodes in, but I can see that they are developing a lot of different threads, so I think it promises to be a complex and interesting story.

Watched Peacemaker from HBO. John Cena plays the same superhero he played in the Suicide Squad, a guy who vows to achieve peace... no matter how many men, women, and children he has to kill to achieve it. Pretty funny overall. Tons of great side conversations between the characters. I can see how some would not like it but I appreciated the sarcasm and dumb jokes in between the tense moments. Not really fourth-wall breaking, but feels similar. Like he'll say a passing comment to a waitress and then they spend the next minute discussing how he sounded like an asshole. Or someone will fuck up a mission and when they get yelled at will explain how they were nervous under pressure and couldn't come up with anything else. All felt very real and relatable, which made the show feel real despite having superheroes and monsters and stuff.
