Is Ricky Gervais behind this? I don’t see his name mentioned anywhere in the trailer and it does look like a copy paste of The Office but in the context of a newspaper and that makes me skeptical.

The eighth season of Scrubs was supposed to be its own spin off show (called Scrubs: Interns) before the network decided to just market it as another season instead of its own thing.

This trailer is closer in tone to Parks and Recreation than The Office. It is inspirational with a protagonist that is genuinely trying to do good. People on Reddit remarked that it feels more cinematic than mockumentary, and I agree. My intuition tells me that it might be easier for this show to succeed without being connected to The Office. Nothing about it screams "comedy" to me. The typical subdued color grading doesn't help. It looks like a dramedy. Let's see. I'll certainly give it a shot.

He's an Executive Producer but that title doesn't mean he's actively involved so idk
