This is the last episode of season 1. I hope everyone is enjoying it so far!

If you don't know what to say, here are some questions to get the discussion started:

  • How does the title relate to the episode itself?
  • Are there any similarities between real life events and the episode?
  • Are there any references or easter eggs in the episode, such as references to past episodes?

This episode is the one that causes me the most internal conflict when considering what life with this technology would be like. On the one hand I could see myself acting like this episode, becoming more and more obsessed with what those memories contain. I also have wished for a technology like this before. The number of fights my wife and I could have avoided is huge. Most of our arguments center around us both remembering an event or conversation differently. Overall I think technology like this would be damaging to many individuals but I definitely can see the appeal of having it.

This was one of my favorite episodes and the episode that made me want to watch the whole series. The constant gnawing at him that something was off when he surprised them at the dinner party that consumed him was so raw. I've seen so many people have similar feelings, sometimes right, sometimes wrong. The way that it played out, made me certain that he was over reacting, until they reveal that she really was cheating on him.

I love all the subtle storytelling that goes on in this episode to support the main plot, and I catch something new each time I watch it. Jonas asks Liam and Ffion if they want to go to a bar before following them to their house to drink. It's only after he gets there and is turned away by Liam that he goes with his "back-up plan", which we learn later on is hooking up with Hallam. The fact that he would have rather spent more time with Fi than hook up with someone is rife for speculation about his feelings for Fi, how much he's aware of the baby, and perhaps the true reasons why his last relationship ended. Fi mentions towards the end that Liam grabbed a condom from his car, but both the audience and Liam are already aware of the fact that Liam actually owns a motorcycle. Anyone else have any favorite unspoken details in this episode?

Please reply to this comment with your rating of the episode, a number from 1 to 5, where 1 is the lowest and 5 is the highest. After we've watched all the episodes, I'll average these and get our collective rating for each episode!

Half-ratings (such as 2.5 or 3.5) are allowed.

I prefer if you reply with just a number, as this makes it easier to average later. Please put discussion in a separate comment thread, and collapse this comment to hide the ratings.

4 edit: Wow what an episode. Sort of saw the ending coming though.

Some interesting concepts at work, rewinding for the airport security guy being a creepy example of how the government could abuse this. Imagine it's effect on everything facet of society. The grain replacing memory but with some unhealthy side effects, I think there's an element of ego protection with the way we remember stuff with a certain fuzziness.

Liam seems more sympathetic this time round.
