Kind of a setup, breather, loose end episode to what I'm assuming is a big finale. I liked the Chainsaw Bear, and that even if Shawn agreed to Team Cockroach's terms, not every demon is down with giving up physical torture, and that Vicky had to take the class and do it "the demon way" before everyone else could get on board.
Now, barring any more hiding of the ball, we get to see the actual, legitimate, proper Good Place next episode. That's sounds like it could be a blast.
I think something's up with Michael. This episode made a big deal about him not wanting to give up control, but he flipped a 180° and handed the reins to Vicky unexpectedly fast. I suspect now...

I suspect now that the end is in sight, he doesn't want it to come. Maybe the balloon is a ruse, maybe he's stealing the friends away so they can't go to the Good Place without him. Presumably, being a demon, he can't spend his eternity there... which means he'll be separated from the people he's closest to. Maybe he'll try to appeal to the judge to let him (and others of his kind) in with the humans, since he's proven the demons are also capable of growth and change.
No matter what happens, I'm hoping we get to see more of Trevor and/or Neil before this ride is over.
Marc Jackson has been killing me as Shawn. The way he delivers such simple yet ridiculous lines leaves me laughing til my sides hurt. I think he stole the show these last two episodes.

There's no way they just get into the Good Place, right? There are two episodes left and I feel like something has to happen in between.

I was wondering about that too. I guess we'll find out.
