So I watched it last Tuesday. And by that, I mean I watched it practically all last Tuesday; finished it in <48 hours.

Needless to say, it was Good. Lends itself very well to binging, much like Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Maybe I'll spoilerly discuss it in a separate thread.

So we are on the second episode of WestWorld S3. And while I think it is off to a better start than S2 was, it isn't as good at all as S1 was. At this point I don't know yet if this is as straightforward as I think it is, or they are hiding some crazy scheme in it all. And I kinda hope it is straightforward season after S2.

Star Wars The Clone Wars S7 seems to be halfway done already, and I'm a bit disappointed. The first couple episodes didn't really do anything for me. And Ep5 just didn't move things along as much as I hoped, getting introduced to new characters when you have so few episodes left always disappoints me. Because I know they won't get enough screentime to actual do anything and make me remember them.

I really like this season so far, though. The new UI is also great. Light themes are coming back!

I nearly gave up on Westworld during season 2, but a coworker convinced me to keep watching, and it really picks up about halfway through the season. So far I'm really enjoying season 3, but the show's name has become a bit of a misnomer.

spoiler season 3 Or maybe not. It seems in the next episode Bernard is going to enter Westworld again.
spoiler season 1 & 2 One of the big plot twists in season 1 was of course the timeline shenanigans, so of course they had to play around with the timelines again in season 2. So far season 3 seems to be entirely linear, but they did a wonderful job with the timelines in season 1, so who knows, maybe we're in for a real plot twist this time as well.

There's also Beyond Westworld -- a very short-lived series that is... rough.

But yeah, I'm with you -- S03 has been great so far. I think the music for S02 was the best, but I'm a sucker for C.R.E.A.M.

I haven't. They're on the long list of films I'm going to see some day.

well.. yeah, don't put any priority on them. The first one is decent and the second one is pretty bad. Put them on the 'I'll just watch the trailer' list :)

Picard has been alright so far. I find that I enjoy the episode until I talk with someone else about it.

Nepenthe was fun. I could watch Picard and Riker pal around all day, though. With Riker and Troi together, maybe we'll get that Imzadi series nobody is asking for.

I've been really enjoying it, but I also don't have any qualms with having stories that are different from what people feel is the immutable core of the show. I like it when show runners take chances with changes, sometimes it doesn't work out like Discovery (which I didn't mind, especially once Anson Mount came on board and they wove in just a little more classic elements of ST stories). I also remember when people though DS9 was too dark and not enough Trekking to be a real Star Trek, it's personally my favourite.

I think Picard does a really good job of being a modern Star Trek and it I feel like if this series had been a feature film most fans would agree is the best one since First Contact. Honestly since DS9 I've always wanted a Section 31 series where it was exposing the dark underbelly of the federation, how things aren't as utopic as the flagship diplomats try to make it seem. I've heard about the series in the works and I'm am a bit disappointed it's not set during the dominion war, I would have loved it if were section 31 mostly set in dominion occupied alpha and gamma quadrant operation. But Picard is definitely scratched that particular itch I had for the Section 31 style stories I had envisioned as a teen.

Just started The English Game. It’s the story of soccer, so what can I say? I’m Brazilian so the first scenes brought (manly and contained!) tears to my eyes. I’ll probably enjoy it wether it’s good or not.

It shows what happened when the common folk started taking part in the previously posh sport. Downtown Abbey with a ball.

I wonder why we rarely see films and TV shows about soccer. Most of the world likes soccer, including the entirety of Europe.

That is a bit odd. According to Wikipedia football/soccer is the world's most popular sport, but it seems heavily underrepresented in the movies. I imagine the main reason is that it's not very popular in the US, so Hollywood doesn't bother making movies about it, instead focusing on sports that are more popular in the domestic market, like American football, ice hockey, auto racing, and boxing. Maybe they make tons of wonderful soccer films in Bollywood and Nollywood, but they never reach our local theatres.

From the top of my mind, I can think of four films about football/soccer that became quite popular here in Norway: Bend it Like Beckham, Shaolin Soccer (少林足球), Lange Flate Ballær, and its sequel Lange Flate Ballær II. There's also an ongoing TV show about it here in Norway named Heimebane, which I haven't seen yet, but it's supposed to be good.

It's amazing to me that one would choose dubbing over subtitles unless your watching it with someone who can't read. But I guess it's better than not watching at all I just really hate dubbing.
