The way they butchered season 5-8 just by making it increasingly worse up until the worst possible climax was astounding and infuriating. I stopped watching GoT at season 5 because I just couldn't any more and people told me the last seasons were abysmal so I was relieved I didn't have to go through that again.
Now because Dexter practically lost everything in my book this news is actually kind of welcoming. With the original producer and original cast. I mean it really can't be any worse that the ending of the original show so I'm even a bit exited.
GoT season 6 has some of the best tv ever made. The season 6 finale is the absolute best piece of TV I've ever seen personally; I wrote about it before and won't spoil it but I would say it's...

Cool! I was mostly talking about the last two seasons but just stopped at 5 so it wasn't really a decline in quality that made me stop. I got tired of keeping track of all the names, storylines etc. after waiting 6 months. I know it's one of the things people love about the show I just didn't like.
Eh, even if it wasn't what made you stop, the decline in quality was well underway by season 5. There were some definite warning signs in season 4, but 5 is where things really started derailing....

There's maybe 5 or 6 good episodes after the season 4 finale, and that's just if you ignore their context and look at them in isolation.

I stopped watching after Season 5,, it had started to feel like a drag. Last two seasons were specially trash. Hope this works as worthy series ending. Unlike Prison Break..

I disagree with above poster, s6 is grotesque and bad, I was groaning throughout! You stopped just in time.
Yeah, that was certainly a well produced episode.
