I wasn’t offered to enter the code but a week trial was there. It’s good enough to read the Fantastic Four run.

India. Not yet but hope in future I travel around the country. I’ve travelled in three states so far.

My grandfather was in Airforce and has been to almost everywhere in the country expect north eastern states. My father is the eldest child and has four siblings. They went with him and grandma to all those places. Later my dad joined military and had postings around the country. He got to serve in North Eastern states as well. I was born when he was posted in Kashmir , and we lived with grandparents then. When I was around 10 we moved with him to a peace posting but then he was called in border area soon. So we moved back to grandma. Dad served another 10 years before retiring. By then he had probably travelled in every state in the country. He spends the time reading books now. I wasn’t interested in joining the military and chose traditional desk job. There little no travel involved and I’m just stuck ..in same place. Hopefully not for life. I want to travel around. See places.

Thanks. That was good reading. I like reading old posts, they are like part of Tildes lore. Deimos' older post, What if we eliminated ownership of link topics linked there, discussing this before adding the feature. There were good thinking behind the implementation. And I agree with that. It just struck me today so I made this post, otherwise I haven't noticed this before. Seeing the username in link posts isn't that useful.

Like this comment says We can construct our own filter bubbles, but I'd rather be capable of forgetting snits at specific users and discovering new content without preconceptions about the poster. I think, at least from the comments in topic, old users had strong opinion on Algernon_Asimov due to some early behavior. Even good conduct might be seen as suspicious.

Here Deimos talks about early days link aggregators' approach, in reply to Amarok's comment. Interestingly I too believed at a time they mentioned the user who posted links but in fact it was editor approving it. It was never actually the username there. Likewise while making this post I assumed this was not intentional to show sitename only, but it is a well thought feature and should remain as it is.

Like this comment said my opinion might change as we give these changes time to mature before saying why they don't like the feature. I like that user. :P

Also this For an alpha, the site's been way too stable.

agree. But site name and username shouldn't show up in same place imo.

kind of irrelevant information relative to the link itself.

In text posts, like this one,, we can see the name of user who created it. But if it is a link post then it shows site name in it's place. To see who created that post we have to open the comments page. Site name can be moved to article details line where the date of publishing and word count is. That way both info can be shown.

Reason. Both information is shown at same place currently 1. which can confuse new users. for example. Notice after four times mentioning site name there is a username. 2. both can't be shown together.

I stopped watching after Season 5,, it had started to feel like a drag. Last two seasons were specially trash. Hope this works as worthy series ending. Unlike Prison Break..
