TV Tuesdays Free Talk
Have you watched any TV shows recently you want to discuss? Any shows you want to recommend or are hyped about? Feel free to discuss anything here.
Please just try to provide fair warning of spoilers if you can.
My SO and I are watching Monk. It is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime. I gotta say, it holds up pretty darn well. My SO is hooked and finds Monk's idiosyncrasies relatable in a lot of ways. We often find ourselves recognizing a similar behavior that she has, our eyes meet, and we laugh about it. It is overall a good adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson story dynamic.
On top of that, we have also returned to the Apple TV+ show, Servant. I like it, but I'm ready to be over it. The episodes are being released weekly, but we have been waiting for a few weeks before watching more.
And then on-and-off, I got a few shows that I often re-watch and rotate. This includes King of the Hill, Dragon Ball (and Z and soon, Super), and Modern Marvels currently.
We finished up Beforeigners. I really liked it! The first episode had some weak points that bugged me, but they actually end up explaining some of it, and it's deeper than it first looks.
We watched the first episode of The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. I'm not sold on it, yet. It's not bad, but the lead character is a little overly spazzy. I don't know that I can watch 10 episodes of that. I'll give it one more episode before giving up, though. The premise is that she's a flight attendant who meets a charming guy on a flight and hooks up with him. He turns out to be a billionaire. She spends the night in his hotel in Bangkok and when she wakes up he's lying next to her with his throat slit and covered in blood. She has no memory of the night before because she spent it getting black out drunk with him.
Sure thing! I watched the second episode last night and I liked it a lot more than the first one.
I'm watching a two part documentary on UK's Channel 4 called Undercover Police: Hunting Paedophiles
It's fucking grim. I think the worst thing is the sheer number of men who make almost no attempt to hide who they are or what they're doing.
Channel 4 crime documentaries are normally calm, serious, heavy duty things. Frustratingly they don't stay online for long, and Channel 4 have encryption that isn't cracked yet so it can be hard to find the programmes on other sources.
I'm also watching Norsemen and it's pretty funny.
Been watching BBC Dead Pixels about dark humor about MMO players.

I got in late on Breaking Bad. My brother watched it a few years ago, I remember starting it a couple times and liking it, but I'm finally on Season 3. The show is dense, and feels twice as long as it actually is, which I count as a good thing, and the characters are pretty great.
Saul's a highlight in an already great show, so I'll definitely be sure to watch it.
