By that I mean if you intend to study law or medicine you no choice but to bite the bullet. you absolutely need that piece of paper at the end of your degree.
If you intend to do a skilled job and can learn while doing I believe time and money is much better spent teaching yourself and then doing an internship or even volunteering to get hands on industry experience.
Comparatively you will be way more employable after let's say 3 years compared to someone else straight out of university. they will likely have stiflingly debt and you could well have started a pension and have some savings and well on you way to being a mid level employee.
I am drawing strongly on personal experience as a software engineer in the UK. I got my degree and paid off my debt but if I could go back in time I would have opted to skip it. students these days have it way worse than I did too, they come out with more dept and a way higher interest rate, I don't believe it's realistic to believe they will be paying off their debt before it gets automatically written off after 25 years which is a joke.
All that aside, university is one of those amazing times in your life, I met my wife while studying many years ago and there's so many great experiences open to you as a student. -

I wrote a comment using some light hearted jokey language while trying to actually write a genuine response (it was not a serious thread) and it just got collapsed.
I also feel like the noise label is too severe or at least simply doesn't scale well with more users. I have seen some threads with 90% of the comments collapsed, if all it takes is 2 people to trigger then with more users this is going to become increasingly common to see.
I can't help but feel if I have genuinely tried to contribute something worthwhile and it gets collapsed then I have failed. how can I see what I did wrong, can I see the labels that have been applied? it would be useful for me to know was it too jokey, was it considered noise even if no-one else can see it.
Finally what effect does editing have, if a comment is flagged as noise or joke and becomes collapsed and you edit it to bring it more inline with a valued comment, is it beyond saving?

Baked beans on toast. I'm not joking.
That said it has to be done right.
- contrary to common advertising they don't have to be Heinz, branston are my favourite but even the cheapo tins will do.
- super important: a add a big dollop of butter, I would say between 1 or 2 teaspoons worth.
- cook, cook, cook. they are not done when simply hot you need to keep them simmering down, let the butter emulsify and it needs to form a thick non runny sauce. by this time the beans will have softened up even more too.
- when beans and sauce is done, take off heat, let them rest, you'll regret tucking in too soon, they are now hotter than the sun as far are your mouth is concerned.
- while cooling, now is the perfect time to make the toast, throw in your favoured bread and wait.
- add more butter to the toast if you want but I actually skip here (weighs less on the guilt of adding butter in step 2). serve the beans on top and dig in. careful it'll still be hot though!

That said, I'd likely enjoy seeing a very small avatar if it fit within the header and was no larger that the +/- expanders.
With that you would gain a small amount of insight or bias about that user or their personality based upon what they pick, but I believe you get that already from their username anyway.
The best in class for ANC are supposedly the sony XM5s, I recently bought the xm4s which are slightly better than what they replaced - some Bose QC35IIs. I heard Sony held back on the noise cancelling for the XM4s because they wanted something to offer on the 5s. I ultimately went 4s due to the price and compactness when travelling (the 5s don't fold).
