I’ll also add, they only raised it by $1 after all this time (in $CAD), which is a very good deal still.

I shopped around for about 6 months. Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon. Spotify just gives the best service by far.

I couldn’t believe how annoying apple was to use. Literally every time you open the app to skip a song, or select something you’d get a pop up screen advertising another artist or feature. And it was an annoying pop up too, the kind that shifts the buttons slightly while loading so you press the wrong button when trying to quickly skip.

On top of that, I can’t believe how bad music suggestion is on apple. I listen to one random broadway musical song and it just starts suggesting ALL broadway music, even if it was just that one song I liked. And it doesn’t take into account tone of music, or singers, or anything. It really feels like it will just suggest the top 50 chart, or use a super broad caragory like “you listened to a country song, so now we will only give you country music in selections, even though that country song was actually a rock and roll song with a country setting”.

Also, if you own any of your Apple Music but then buy the subscription it makes it incredibly difficult to access JUST your paid for music on the service.

I could go on about how shite apples service was, it’s really the service of 1000 small cuts adding up to the worst thing ever.

YouTube and Amazon were okay I guess, but I didn’t like their apps, and some music I like was hard to find.

Spotify basically has no competition as far as I can see.

The biggest problem is that most religions basically are capitalism: a lucky few get to reap the rewards and benefits of the rest of the group, while suffering none of the punishments. Plus they get to make up the rules as well.

So really. It’s just capitalism that’s the problem, because without that structure in place religions wouldn’t have the incentive(or at least ability) to be as terrible as they are. And the ones with the biggest reach and influence would die off, because they are based off of monetary value.

Make no mistake. I completely agree with you, but the biggest problem is that the one to make the laws are the ones with all the money and all the influence. So these companies will lobby government to not make laws like that.

If we could at least do it this way, then we could remove harmful people from positions of power. It’s not a great solution, obviously but it’s more likely to happen, then getting lobby groups to change their position about punishing themselves.

And I know you joke: but these awful people actually would feel punished walking away with lots of money. Because it’s not ALL the money.

If there’s no risk involved being a company owner they’ll just do whatever they want. Which is equally as bad as if there was too much risk.

I saw it when I was quite a bit younger, that and trigun. I just don’t think I was ready for that real of a message in either show.

As a kid knives felt evil and irredeemable, but rewatching it as an adult it was clear from episode one that he just represented the spider from the metaphor. Save the fly, kill the spider. And Vash was the one who almost killed knives after all. It was much more complicated after rewatching as an adult.

I haven’t done that with cowboy bebop yet, and really, at the end of the day it’s because the ending was really sad to me.

    Spoilers if anyone cares:

It really felt like spike was finally getting over his ex, and was potentially moving on with valentine. So to be drawn back into his past and dying was too sad for me, who wanted a successful love story as a kid. Plus I felt like ed and jet didn’t really get much attention near the end either. Just sort of fell off the story.

The most comfortable clothes I own, and my 10 year old tshirt I wear all the time used to annoy me because I didn’t buy more of them when it was available.

Luckily Amazon now sells them so I have a whole wardrobe now, and the quality still looks and feels as good as it was the years ago.

I’m not an expert on this subject by any means.

Wasn’t a big problem about climate change related to the pollution we put in the atmosphere creating a greenhouse effect which keeps the heat inside our atmosphere?

So with that being said, even if we could deflect the heat, wouldn’t it still be trapped on earth and thus not change anything?

Again, I’m not even slightly an expert, I just down understand how this helps rather than push the problem elsewhere in the world.

I think another large problem can actually come from friends and family influence.

I knew someone who had large bouts of depression all of their childhood, but the family never got them in to see someone. They assumed it was a sign of weakness or something to see a mental health professional or having to take medications to help with depression was somehow seen as being a failure. I’m sure we can all think of someone who thinks this way, it’s pretty common.

Anyways, once this person became an adult and their parents could no longer intervene in their mental health they did end up taking their own life. And it was pretty sad of course.

I think an important step that we can all take is to not disparage people for seeking help, or having to take medications to help balance their emotions. It’s not a character flaw.
