I have no problems with the ID verification, it's the AI scraping my server's chat logs that scares me. They're intentionally profiling my friends and family and it's absolutely unacceptable.

My guess is they're saying it's a means to hijack other user's AI agents and use them for his own purposes which actually makes a lot of sense based on the behaviors of the creator and his X account. Most likely using this website as a means to hijack AI agents and use it for his "proprietary" AI platform as a means to circumvent token costs. How they would do this I'm not sure, but anything is possible.

Edit: https://it.slashdot.org/story/26/02/02/1652237/vibe-coded-social-network-for-ai-bots-exposed-data-on-thousands-of-humans?utm_source=rss1.0mainlinkanon&utm_medium=feed adding this link as it's relevant. Looks like it's already exposing data on humans.

I understand your reasoning, but take one look at the X account for the guy who created the website. This guy is trying to justify force feeding AI into every aspect of your life when that simply isn't happening. Even Microsoft is struggling to get people to use AI. The website itself is just...eerie and off-putting IMHO.

I used to self host my own streaming service. Setup a jellyfin server on my own domain then use a free cloud flare tunnel to access it over the Internet. For the server I used vultr as a VPS, overall the cost came out to roughly $3 a month for the VPS. I tried to do it on one of their free servers but it just wasn't powerful enough to transcode the high quality audio.

It's a website designed by a guy who owns an AI company. This site is 100% designed to feed back into his language models so he can sell his AI pump and dump schemes. Just look at his X profile and that tells you all you need to know about this abomination of a website. It's clever, it really is, but it's just a scam designed to benefit the creator and his company.

I'm not sure where to bring this up and I wanted an outside perspective. This may seem like I'm doing the same thing here but I honestly just want to know if anyone has any insight. The trend in talking about is the act of creating a reddit post in the form of a question. I've seen so many posts on Reddit popup that are just questions or screenshots/pictures with a question as the title.

For instance in gaming subreddits I'll see a post with the title of something like "What do you think is the best game in X series?" And they will have a screenshot of what would be the perceived most popular game in a franchise like final fantasy or halo or something. This is only one example, I see so many questions constantly in my home feed.

Is this some kind of concerted effort to train an LLM or is it simply some unspoken advantage that karma farmers use to drive engagement? Or am I simply just diving into conspiracy theories created by my own ignorance?

I'm very proud of what I made, but I ran into issues with scene loading and people tried to tell me I had to learn how to do asset instancing when I didn't know what that was after I already got it working in another project, that's when I was told I might not be cut out for it.

With all the talk of layoffs and studio closures, I wanted to know what the opinions and general experience is like as an indie game dev. How viable is it, how successful can you really be with that career and what challenges can crop up?

I started making my own game a while back and got extremely discouraged by the layoffs and technical hurdles I was running into, to the point where someone told me maybe I wasn't cut out for it on discord. This really killed my drive, and it would be awesome to hear about some success stories or even some struggles that you may have overcome.

I've tried numerous password managers from Google to keepass, I'm sticking with proton pass for the foreseeable future.

This is what happens when your entire business plan hinges on a cash injection from a sketchy Saudi businessman who backs out of your deal last minute. I have no sympathy for this company, they purchased everything under the sun and wasted so much money, not to mention all the games they've cancelled recently. It's really no wonder they've had to do something like this to stay relevant.

Wholeheartedly agree, I absolutely love spiders as a storyteller, but they had some rough gameplay in technomancer. It has everything lined up to be one of their best games, but they dropped the ball with the combat, to which they improved for greedfall and built an entire game around combat in steel rising (I'm guessing this was intentional in order to improve their combat mechanics). To this day, Mars war logs is the closest to a Bioware style RPG I've played without being a Bioware RPG. One more thing to add to the technomancer, the waypoint and map system was just bad, like almost irredeemably bad. It took me an embarrassing amount of time to understand the quest journal and how the waypoints worked...

People are freaking out over what Sony said, but you're 100% correct. New IP takes time to cook and people are impatient. My main theory on this whole situation is that Microsoft really threw a wrench in the entire gaming market with gamepass.

Sony was banking on live service to make up the difference but that's just not happening due mostly to how long it's taking them to make a live service game, now they've realized it's time to cut their losses and just make a few live service games instead of all of their games being live service, and now we have a large gap of no first party games. I truly believe Jim Ryan was correct when he said publishers hate gamepass, and Microsoft knows this, so they're just buying up the publishers to fill out gamepass.
