In addition to all the people suggesting to watch the video on YouTube from baratza specifically on how to do it (you should, it’s easy) they also have lifetime free repair for individual consumers. If you happen to be in the seattle area you can drop off your grinder and pick it up once it’s repaired. I imagine you can probably ship it to them if you’re not local (although I guess you’d have to pay for shipping then). A really great service - I took advantage of it just recently for a grinder that had finally (after a good 20 years of service) given up the ghost - it’s just like new! Baratza rocks!

I use NewsBlur. The website is pretty good and they have an iOS client that also works really well. They do have a limit for how many feeds you can subscribe to before you need to pay but it’s pretty high and I’ve never been able to actively read that many anyway. I’ve thought about paying just to support the guy honestly it’s that good

Having done something like this before myself, I would run all my Ethernet cables to a closet or crawl space or similar. And then make sure there’s an outlet right there as well for plugging in a router (at least). This winds up being way more flexible as rooms that start out as offices sometimes turn into other uses and having to keep a server running in your new kids room/laundry room/exercise room/whatever only because the wires end there is kind of annoying.

I’d also think about where you want the cable and (if you’re lucky) fiber from the street coming into the house. Having those also enter and surreptitiously wind up at the same spot as above keeps them out of sight and is super useful

Besides, cash is private. I don’t necessarily need my bank (or whoever can get my bank records) knowing exactly every place I spend my money.

Quality is definitely an issue, nobody is going to willingly subject themselves to watching crap over and over again. The inertia behind the studios and their fiscal modelling of few-very-expensive-movies-every-year instead of lots-of-very-cheap-movies-every-year means it takes a while for the tide to turn and the new movies in development to come out that don't suck.

That said, at least in the States, half the country hates the other half and inevitably feels a little helpless in trying to change that themselves, and while that remains the case the pure escapist fantasy of One Guy (who happens to have an Iron suit, or turns green, or has some other super power) Changing The World will likely have play.

I miss more relatable character dramas myself.
