    Kennedy Makes Bigoted Remarks About Arabs at Michigan Campaign Event

    Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. falsely claimed on Monday that Arabs did not win major global awards and “don’t produce literature,” remarks that came as President Trump and his allies step up anti-Muslim messaging in the final days of the midterms.

    Speaking at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Mich., Mr. Kennedy said at first that the “Muslim religion produced a golden age” in which “Islamic lands were the center, the foundation for art and literature and science and engineering, and they were highly tolerant and pluralistic and cosmopolitan.”

    But then he argued that the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist political movement founded in 1928, had “created stagnant societies,” falsely claiming that Arabs no longer produced award-winning work.

    “That’s why you don’t see any Muslims, any Arab Muslims winning the Nobel,” Mr. Kennedy said. “There’s 500 million Arabs in the world, and yet they don’t produce — they don’t win the Nobel Prize, they don’t win the Field prize, they don’t win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature.”

    Arabs have in fact won all of these prizes, including as recently as 2025. Clips of Mr. Kennedy’s comments spread widely online, with some angry users sharing names of Arab and Muslim winners of major awards.

    On Sunday, Mr. Trump claimed in a string of Islamophobic remarks that Dr. El-Sayed and Democrats would “invite hordes of jihadis to our shores” if Mr. Rogers lost. This month, Senator John Kennedy, Republican of Louisiana, made an inflammatory comment that Dr. El-Sayed slept in an Osama “bin Laden jersey.” Mr. Rogers, who was present at both events, has pushed hard to make false claims and pointed questions about Dr. El-Sayed’s background a central issue of the campaign.

    Seems like the racists have shifted focus from having latinos in their crosshairs to having southeast Asians and Muslims. Almost like more people are starting to see through all their bullshit.

    It’s not something you can really look up other than old voting records. I’ve always thought of all the branches as being pretty right wing so it’s more surprising that the marines and the navy...

They’re easily distracted, but I no longer see a point in trying to convince them but rather point out how stupid they are to “moderate” people who don’t vote and actually get them to vote

    I know we have political post sections, but I'm posting this just because it seems like an intimidation tactic people in nine states will actually have to be dealing with in the coming weeks. I knew the feds were going to be doing this but I didn't know how, this article had some details on it.

    In recent weeks, armed Homeland Security Investigations officers have carried out field operations and visited homes to interview people suspected of illegally voting as noncitizens. The targets can include people who became citizens but voted before they naturalized.

    Martínez-Olguín referenced a disclosure last month from a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services whistleblower that alleged rushed efforts to match data to create a target list of potential noncitizens on voter rolls, and that the list includes U.S. citizens. She also pointed to HSI's social media posts, including one that showed agents handcuffing a California man accused of unlawfully registering to vote.

    The judge wrote that the government's use of unreliable and incomplete data along with highly publicized arrests "lead to an objectively reasonable fear of law enforcement entanglements that intimidates citizens from urging or aiding others in exercising their right to vote."

    HSI field operations were planned in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wisconsin

    I'm lucky this isn't happening in my state but don't be surprised if you see this intimidation in person. I also wouldn't be surprised if my state got added to the order at the last minute.

    Meta chief legal officer C.J. Mahoney criticized the penalty, saying in a statement that the company is “confident” that it will “prevail on appeal.”

    “This ruling, and the Attorney General’s approach to this enforcement, makes it all but impossible to do business in the state of New Mexico,” Mahoney said in the statement. “At its core, this lawsuit seeks to impose a tax on speech to enforce new rules for what people can say online.”

    I know this post is about the queer movement but compare queer rights in the U.S. to the rest of the western world and you'll see what I mean. And beyond that look at how police treat minorities...

    I get that black people don't want to explain what's essentially untold U.S. history (or black history outside the U.S.) over and over again to explain why certain things are racist, but average...

    I get that black people don't want to explain what's essentially untold U.S. history (or black history outside the U.S.) over and over again to explain why certain things are racist, but average white people aren't going to go out of their way for it. The problem is then that these white guys have very strong opinions about stuff they don't know much about, which on a site like this is a microcosm of what we ended up with in the U.S. government. The U.S. education system needs an overhaul on that stuff, going up to modern things like red-lining and predatory loans. In the meantime I don't strictly put it on black people to have to educate the ignorant (or re-educate assholes who don't want to listen or believe factual history). Robert Evans has proven that anyone and everyone can teach this stuff.

    With that said, I really don't want this to become like reddit where I have to re-post things and argue with someone while feeling like I'm arguing with a racist Russian troll.
