    I love EUIV, but I don't played it against humans. The one strategy/RTS I play is Beyond All Reason. It's a free spiritual successor to Total Annihilation. The amount of units, various strategies...

    The one strategy/RTS I play is Beyond All Reason.
    It's a free spiritual successor to Total Annihilation. The amount of units, various strategies and scope is pretty mindblowing.
    It also has a pretty chill community.

    The writing style is pretty humerous.

    Outside of the various Culture novels that have been recommended, I would like to throw the book Excession in the ring. It's one of my favourites in that universe.

    One more recommendation if you're looking for a longer/bigger series universe, is the Polity stuff by Neal Asher. Gridlinked is a great starter.

    The Posleen series is mil SF, but not hard. It's very much in the Micheal Bay 'Big Explosions' catergory.

    I've had this nick for so long that I can't actually remember.

    What are your interests?
    Science fiction -- books, films, almost never tv series as they mostly dissapoint.
    Sound design, synthesizers and VCV Rack.
    Gaming -- mostly Paradox games.
    Politics -- love and hate
    Beer -- needed after politics. Quality ales only please.
