I only get the sensation in real life from people genuinely explaining something to me in a very calm and ideal manner, Ideally drawing the concept with pen on paper while they are doing so. I used to have it when teachers did a good job explaining and drawing on a black board. Bummer that it only works in real life, videos don't work for me, I feel like my brain knows it's not real. I have often wondered if ASMR was some kind of reward mechanism for higher order stimuli (like learning), like a post lizard/animal brain adaptation for higher cognitive functions. Would be interesting if someone can relate to it only working in real life!

And even though posts might be low in amount the quality of discussions will be high, since only interested people will come. Let's say I want to discuss my favorite game, or genetic engineering papers, or German military history

Well you summed it up perfectly. I have never watched more then 3 episodes of POI because season 1 was a bit 'meh'. But now i read your review I'm kind of excited for the tech scifi style in season 2. So i might have to give this one another chance!

It helps with feeling and intuitively experiencing, instead of just factually reasoning about, topics like AI, Ethics, our culture, our future. It gave me a some intuition about:
- How could consiousness arise?
- When is consiousness suffering?
- Can machines be consious and suffer
- How can the machine achieve consioussness
- A depiction of, the hard to grasp, buddhist/indian concept of samsara which "is closely associated with the belief that the person continues to be born and reborn in various realms and forms"
- Whats the difference between you and something that has copied you and passes a "you" turing test.
It did all this while being action packed, having good actors, great visuals, and a bingeworthy story. Some people dont like it all that much so I wonder what those people got out of it...
Whenever I hear the opening theme I get the urge to "just start pondering about life". -

I wonder who, respectfully, gives a shit about whats next to an ad. Maybe some ad industry peons paid to care sure. But normal, non activist, average users/consumers? They are watching the content in the first place, so they are okay with it, why should the ad provider create a means for censorship by ad starvation.
Sure for blatant criminal NSFL content, but everything else should be fair game.
