Comment on Are there any games that you have enjoyed playing without the HUD or mini-map? If so, which ones and why? in ~games

When it's something like that, I like to leave HUD elements up. If it's something like BotW, I'd prefer no HUD at all to immerse myself more. My favorite setting for the HUD and the one I wish every single game would adopt is Horizon: Zero Dawn. You can tap the middle button to quickly have some info show but leave the HUD off. I wish I could do that in every game. DQ 11 for example forces me to have the map up all of the time. Gran Turismo 7s HUD is useful but I wish it was more dynamic.

Comment on Howdy, motorsport fans! What series are we all watching at the moment? What’s your favorite? in ~sports.motorsports

I also watch IMSA, World GT Challenge, Super GT, Super Formula and some other smaller series when I can. I try to watch Indy but I hate the way the cars look and yeah, that may seem shallow but it is what it is. My favorite is absolutely WEC. I love endurance racing. The pinaccle of motorsports in my opinion.
Just finished Devil in the White City about a serial killer active during the Chicago Columbian Exposition (world's fair) in the late 1800's. Super fascinating. The way they describe what the killer did and how he lived in those times, them turmoil around the country and the huge effort to pull if the world's fair.
Just started reading The Winter Over. Not sure what it's about yet other than a group of scientists and support in the south pole. Seems interesting so far.
