These guys are condemned to live show-to-show just to last the tour and hope to sell some merch & gain some fans along the way.
A lot of people write off the music as noise but overlook how hard it actually is to produce. It's not four chords like mainstream pop and they definitely don't have professional songwriters behind them. Go to a metal show or check some out online and watch how hard each member is working up there. THAT is talent overlooked.

I've noticed that once I say something like, "I couldn't sing like that," or, "How can he use both hands AND both feet to drum?!" the music is a little more openly received.

Lack of awareness is definitely a problem. I don't hear much about what rape victims can do/where they can go and how they can pursue prosecution against their assailant(s).
Yikes at whomever came up with "teach women not to be raped".

How do we teach people not to be murderers or, for a less extreme example, muggers not to be muggers? People know that bad acts are bad. This does not deter them, clearly.

SaintOfIllusion We need the movie-making crew to watch T2 before they do anything. We need to recapture T2's perfect dark tone.We need the movie-making crew to watch T2 before they do anything. We need to recapture T2's perfect dark tone.

Comment on Let's do something different: What are your favorite video game OSTs? in ~music

Sorry for delayed reply; I haven't logged in here for some time. Some tech-death bands that really take musicianship to the next level and are sorely overlooked are Archspire and Soreption. A couple deathcore bands to check out that I'd consider up-and-coming: Shadow of Intent, Angelmaker, Spite, and Aversions Crown. Straight-up death metal bands I don't see mentioned often: Necrophagist (listen to the solos!) and Suffocation.
