I'm also watching local subs and a few more as long as they maintain good content. As is, I no longer check it on my phone and might drop by the desktop site every so often but that's about it. I've migrated to nextdoor to at least see what people are saying for local stuff and discord for a bunch of gaming communities but I haven't found a perfect replacement for reddit and twitter. I love Tildes for what it is but I'm still seeking other pools of knowlege or in some cases, just pretty pictures of weather or cute puppy stuff.

Awesome!! I hope your friend has a fun vacation and you can both make it to the elf area soon after they return! With the pretty glowing areas, the colors and the nature themes, it's definitely my style as well! I haven't made it to Withergate yet. I'm taking my time and enjoying, well, that plus getting distracted by another game for a bit. I'll be back to Sun Haven soon!

Are you always a Redoran? I found it fun to try different playthrough styles over different characters. I think I joined Hlallu at one point but that house really didn't leave the impression on me that Redoran and Telvanni did. I do have trouble playing an evil aligned character though, I don't want to attack non aggressive NPCs. Taking the candles is about as evil as I wanted to play. I tried vampire and werewolf. The game does a good job at making those curses without mods to change how they play.

I hope you can use the console on the deck, some story quests can get stuck. I remember having to use the console on occasion to force a quest to start when the triggers didn't work or a sequence stopped partway through.

I just finished playing Cassette beasts. I like how they took a creature collector/monster taming game and put their own spin on it.
You start out waking up in another dimension with people who have all come from different earths. You may run into characters from literature, or someone from the 80's or a world in which most of its history sounds like ours, but they had a shark man attack some time after world war II I think so a lot of interesting comments from different characters.
The rules of reality work a bit different there. You can use a cassette player to record various creatures from legends and mythology and become one in order to fight back against the creatures in that world. If your purpose resonates with the companion characters you are traveling with, both of your characters monster forms can fuse into one big one for more power during fights. Recording certain monsters can change what you can do as a human. Recording one kind near the beginning can give you wings and let you glide, another lets you zoom quite fast, which makes up for the generally slow walking speed, and various other abilities as you go through the game.
They have what are called bootleg tapes, basically monsters who are a different element than the usual for that breed. Bootleg recordings have different attacks and often learn rarer ones you can then take from those cassettes and use on compatible forms if you so choose.
Let's just say that turning into a sheep ghost in order to fight predatory real estate vampires is a normal day in that world.

Ooh, I really love Sun Haven although I have the problem that I keep creating new characters due to the character creator options being so much fun. I haven't beat it yet. My current Character is an elf and will probably make the elven farm her main base of operations. I'm not sure what character I'll make the main sun haven farm their most frequented location. I find I try different play styles and color themes with different characters. So much to do in that game!

I loved Eastward! It did leave me wanting more as they left some things unanswered. I hope they make another game with more answers in it! Perhaps exploring the timeline before what happens in Eastward. A sequel would be fun too.
As for Eastward itself, I enjoyed the music and found the silliness surrounding the main characters lack of talking to be fun. Battling major threats with a pan also added some light heartedness to a gloomy theme at times. The way you trade off between characters to make it through areas was fun. The pixel art was really nice and you could tell a lot of work went into all of the character designs and settings. Being unable to go back and get some missed ingredients was a bit annoying though. The train in the foggy area was really weird but I'm not going to spoil things for anyone who hasn't played it yet either.

Another vote for uplift desks here. I really like mine, it's nice to have all of the options, the weight it can lift is higher than others I looked into. Mine isn't big enough for the hammock to be usable but I got a foot hammock. It's held up well so far but I've only had it for 6 months.
You can choose to get just the base and make your own top for it, you can get different type of bases. You can get different tops, different accessories, so many options. It's not too loud and I like that it is lifted with electronics. I had a humanscale manual one for 2 years, then had a major health event and couldn't lift it for a while, then it broke inside and I wasn't about to open something with tension warnings all over it so went with the uplift for my replacement desk.

I wish you could pet them. I do hope they show up around your home area once you have collected them. I do like that they are a scavenger hunt. I hear you on being able to pick up a game and put it down when needed. Life is busy and it's hard to find time especially with work and chores. I value that as well and typically don't play games I can't pause. Thanks for more detail and I'm looking forward to playing it in between chores!
Ooh, that's a use for skyrim I haven't tried yet. With so many mods out there now days I wonder if there is one that makes it a peaceful place so skipping around and picking flowers would not have things trying to eat you while you do so.

I don't see the Breath of Fire series mentioned often. My favorite was Breath of Fire 3. Turn based and with the ability to turn into so many kinds of dragons, I really loved exploring that one. I enjoyed the cat people, the shapeshifter dragon, the gargoyle, so many memorable characters and things to do. I like that the dragons were feared but were actually peaceful. I liked the weird creatures that said "moof" instead of moo. That's one I definitely want to replay on occasion.

Spore was a lot of fun! My favorite part was the creature stage so I often would play though repeatedly and create all sorts of creatures without moving on to the civilization stage. I thought that being able to save the creatures as a picture that the game could recreate them from was really cool. I've been watching the development of Elysian Eclipse lately, which appears to be trying to be another spore type of game. I'd be up for playing a similar game and hoping for it to have some features I wished for in Spore.
Chocobo tales sounds cute. I didn't get to try that one. There were so many fun games on the DS!

I had forgotten about this one. Now that you have reminded me about it, the beast people vs humans was interesting. Overall I remember enjoying the game and that many of the beast people were jerks. I would have preferred a somewhat different ending but I'm not the writer. I wasn't aware it had an anime associated with it. I wonder if that's easy to find online or not. I'll have to look later

Ooh, I love Morrowind! The races were fun, the moddability was awesome, the alien feel was really cool, the worldbuilding was excellent. It was buggy but worth it. I really enjoyed sneaking around and obtaining powerful treasure before I was a high enough level to really handle the critters in an area. I loved all of the stuff you could find, the books, the resources, etc... I loved being able to craft spells and enchant things. It's my favorite TES game.
What was your favorite race to play and did you have a character with particular habits?
I had an argonian that was a master of sneaking. She would typically free every slave, took over house Telvanni, and collected as many blue light candles as I could find and put them all over the character's Telvanni tower. That character's home was full of blue light and books.
I had other playthroughs and other characters but that one had the most specific quirks in how I played it.

I'm uncertain if I have Crohn's. I do have GERD and a bunch of allergies. I'll ask a gastroenterologist next time I go. All I know is some of those foods give me a lot of mucus, some make me cough, and some feel like fire to my mouth and make my throat swell. That last category is dangerous. I've also noticed that if I eat the ones I'm allergic to that don't have too bad of a reaction at first, continuing to eat more of it makes my reactions worse.
