She even mentions the evolution of "dope" in her discussions on this.
Her "power" comments just come off to me as an excuse to ignore the logic of other examples that we, as a society, are fine with accepting their change in definition.
Asking someone from the 50's what calling someone "gay" means will give you a different answer than someone in the 80's or someone in the current day. Same with "queer" or "nerd" or "geek" or many other terms. The reply above is right that words should be judged by intent.

Journalism has decried hard work and ethics to instead pick the low-hanging fruit of enraged clicks, but you'll find more participation and loyalty from users who participate out of joy, not poison. Fan sites for beloved games/movies/events are much bigger draws than places that harbor negativity.

Maybe talking to them individually and seeing if there is a way this site can meet their needs would be a good way to solicit groups of participants. I know most mod teams seem to be discussing exit strategies in the background, with some needing more urgent answers than others.

Because of harsh internet and location restrictions, I rarely get to partake beyond friendly $5 or beer bets with friends and at bars. I spent a "first weekend" of the NCAA Tourney in Vegas once, and I think it ranks very high on my non-family list of experiences, thoroughly enjoyable.
The Supreme Court ruling may really open things up though, and I'm excited for the possible return of something I always enjoyed.

Tiercel I've been playing since the beta. It's a great sandbox for adventure and having fun in unique, unforseen ways. I'll look you up this weekend if I'm crewing up.I've been playing since the beta. It's a great sandbox for adventure and having fun in unique, unforseen ways.

Doesn't everyone? Seems insincere to suggest men should be carefree when assault and robbery stats state otherwise.
I think it's more honest to just say that everyone, regardless of gender or orientation has the weight of self-preservation and safety decisions.
