Sure, CDB will probably be a lot less affected, and won't directly be affected. But the environment will affect everyone. Unless he dies before it gets really bad (adn it's already having effects).
Also, if another pandemic happens, the US will be a breeding ground, I promise you (and these days with everything global it can easily slip out to other countries). And they're already talking about how the bird flu is starting to affect mammals and getting worried about if/when it starts doing human to human transmission (one thing they've noticed is mammals like cows and cats are really spreading it around now).

I wrote a comment either this morning or yesterday why this will affect even "privledged" people who aren'this direct targets.
I will give you that at this point there is not much we can do about it so I agree with the sentiment of burying my head in the sand. But I think you are really underplaying the worst thing about this when you're whining the worst thing is just hearing about him.

But I don't think you are right that this won't affect even the privledged.
For the more shallow thing, Orange cheetoh gets his tariffs (and it sounds like things went very well for Republicans, I haven't looked cause it's too rage inducing for me right now) and all the stuff I love but is already hard to afford gets so much harder to afford.

Oh, let me add it's already getting really late to do much about global warming and the Republicans are going to try to relax regulations around that is kinda fucking everyone over. Not to mention I fucking hate heat and winter is getting shorter and shorter and our summers are getting warmer (and I live in the PNW and now you can't even go there to get away from the heat it seems).
Add in if Trump and project 2025 get their way, this may very well be the last honest election we get (I don't think they'll go straight to outright facism, btu I do think they'll try to be one of those countries that plays it is democratic while everyone knows only one party/leader will ever be elected).
Plus I'm worried about freedom of speech when you have people like Musk around (and hell, Trump. But Musk has outright shown what he thinks freedom of speech is... freedom for him, not for anyone who disagrees. And I forget what Trump wants to appoint him, but between both of them I could see them trying to outright stifle freedomt o speak against the government (project 2025 too). Hell, my mom is worried enough about it she's already deleted all her social media (and i'm not sure she's not being wise. Let me add that she is very good at predicting this kind of stuff, she ends up right a lot of times).
Oh, and can I add appointing a guy who wants to get rid of vaccines and is crazy for our health director? Yeah... that is going to go really well.
So, while this might not affect me immediately or directly, it will affect me. And things will get worse. And at this point with republicans having a lot of control and wanting to make it hard for them to lose control, I am not sure/have little hope it can improve.
So, thank you for trying to cheer me up, make my anxiety less, but I think you are underplaying how bad this can easily get at this point. Sure, it's not crappy/war country yet and may not be, but that doesn't mean that this is ok. Yes, I'll still get up and life will be normal but it is very real that little by little (or even maybe more sudden changes) things change for the worse. And some of that stuff is not going to be ignorable even for the more privledged, especially if they can't keep their opinions to themselves about the govt. And that is just my POV from a privledged POV and not one of the ones that should be even more scared.

So when I need to suddenly turn down the radio for whatever reason I have to fumble around or look for it?). I'm going to miss my old radio as it was designed around 2000 (It's a 2003 car but I've seen the same radio in older models) so it is all physical buttons (and it plays cassettes and CDs and i have both honestly). But the volume knob is getting all weird and the ipod I have for it (we modded it to be able to control an ipod) is broken and it seems expensive just to buy another old ipod (it had the original fat ipod connector) for a radio that we don't know how much longer it has.
Oh yeah, and I love my car is old enough to have all physical controls (and also for my husband to work on at our house... from what I understand newer cars are a lot harder for people to do their own repairs on... not that my car has needed much. It's a Toyota and it definitely fits the stereotype).

You would have to pay very underpaid wages to be able to compete with just having a kiosk that you only have to pay maintenance every now and then...As for automation, that is going to come anyways. Tigress Link ParentI don't layer in MH until they let me (you pretty much got to get to endgame iceborne in World to do cosmetics). But you know what? I still appreciate they let you at the end cause it gives me a new goal to work for cause I still want to make my char look the way I want her too (in world I tend to use event cosmetics until I get to that part where I can start tailoring my own cosmetic armor from monster pieces).
I love MH but as with anything I need a goal to play it (it's just how I am. It is like when I rode a motorcycle I couldn't just ride it to ride it, I still needed a destination or I just didn't enjoy it. And with games it is the same way, no matter how much I enjoy gameplay, I need a reason/goal to play the game or I just lose interest fast).

But honestly, even if the SP doesn't, I always wish it does. Just cause I am not playing with others (Even if I'm playing in first person) doesn't mean I don't want to be able to control how my character looks. I mean yeah, in first person I don't even see it, but I do when making the character (or putting clothes on) so that is what gives me the image of what my char looks like (and I'd bet that is the reason why me and others who joke about spending hours on cahracter creation for a first person game do that).

Honestly, the first one is really just the same thing as you are complaining about, just changed a little to not look the same from the outset.
Honestly, I'm with others, if you don't like it, don't use the system. I personally love when they do it cause I hate sacrificing how my character looks for the best armor (I end up doing so cause I guess I value practicality over looks unless something is just really really awesome to me). I don't find it a fun thing to have to try to sacrifice one over the other and honestly if you find it fun, it's as easy as ignoring the transmog system (I don't like fast travelling in games, so I ignore the fast travel system. It's not hard if it is truly an enjoyable mechanic for you... in fact I tend to forget I can even fast travel because for me, until I'm ready to just finish the game, fast travelling ruins some of my immersion/fun of the game so it's super easy for me to ignore it).

My ears have a tendency to feel bruised if I wear pods/headphones too long unless they fit really well/comfortable. I am absolutely sure I have hearing damage (took some online test with headsets and it said it was moderate).
But I am not sure my insurance covers hearing aids and I'm not willing to pay 1000's of dollars for one so I never bothered the doctor for a hearing test or to have a specialist look and I honestly don't really want to go through all that just for a hearing aid. I've always liked the sales pitch of earpods but 200 something dollars is more than I'm willing to pay for headphones/ear pods (I know, Apple Tax but that is one thing I'm not willing to pay Apple tax for especially as my husband a year or so back handed me down his set of Sony xm1002 I believe hte model is, really nice headsets, they feel as comfortable as the 1000 dollar Bose pilot headsets he has for the plane that are too bulky and expensive to use as everyday headsets <- Bose makes excellent pilot headsets). Admittedly though if they serve as a decent hearing aid I could get myself to justify it though.

Every kid (except me cause my parents didn't believe in devices for gaming only but even I gamed on what I could) I knew had a console. Even in high school I remember missing New Year's cause I was playing with my best friend (both of us girls) on her nintendo. I swear it wasn't until the 2000's you heard this boys only play videogames BS (and I heard BS on what girls tended not to do as a tomboy cause I was always praised if it was something only guys were interested in which back then was cars, airplanes, and sports. Video games was not something I perceived as being part tomboy, taht was just being a kid <- plus I refuse to grow up, still like cartoons too :P. Or at worst a geek thing).
And go watch vidoes some guys have done where they play as a girl character and the toxicity they get and you'll understand why women tend to either not talk in MP games and pretend to be guys or just hope not to get noticed or play single player games cause it's not fun dealing with assholery.
And I find it kinda interesting that when statistics show that people are wrong about women not playing games all the sudden you get arguments that the study was including "not what I consider gaming" games, or that they must be counting moms buying videogames/consoles for their boy kids (yes, I actually remember some guy using that as an excuse as to why the statistic was wrong). I rememebr the time that you claim women didn't play games. Funny how I rememebr the women I knew played games :P.
Sorry, it's been a pet peeve of mine since 2000 and later when all the sudden there got to be this idea that women didn't play videogames (I never had this problem before then really... I've been playign since Atari so funnily enough before a lot of these younger boys (who probably aren't boys anymore today) who started claiming women didn't play video games).

That being said I've never been on WoW but I played ESO and it has a fair amount of women gamers (who don't even mind showing they are women) including me but I would say ESO overall is not that toxic for a multiplayer game. It had its times but in general the playerbase wasn't so bad (and I met several random nice people too).
I've also had guys tell me they play as females and noted how much differnet other gamers treated them (not in ESO but in GTA.. and I can attest GTA's playerbase is fucking toxic. I stopped talking on it period. Hell, I had one guy before I decided i was happier not talkign to randoms who kept insisting that I must be a guy with a voice changer and was warning people I wasn't a woman. Solely on the fact that he assumed women didn't play the game and no possible way).

But if you are talking about letting them drive when human element is still there, humans are just not predictable enough for a self driving car to be able to figure out all the different scenarios.
I mean I don't know enough to say I'm 100 percent certain, but I am sure enough to say self driving cars on roads where humans are also driving is magnitudes more difficult to implement than if every car is a self driving car and there are standards where they can communicate with each other.
I think if we truly want safe self driving vehicles, in the end we need to not allow humans to drive. And as some one who likes cars, that is a sad scenario :(. Then again I'm getting old enough I wouldn't mind being driven around lol.
Honestly I've used this one from practically the first time I was introduced to internet in college. Was introduced to the idea of a chat group/mush and I like cats a lot and also really liked this one batman character from Batman the animated series so, I used it. And have been using it or variants of it (because it's not an uncommon name so usually I can't just have it) ever since.
