People following it were using it as an excuse to easily display their contempt of women and women in games. It was really plain to see their real problem was she was a woman and they got to dogpile on her. I mean it started cause a guy was feeling spurned by her (I think she cheated on him) and a way to get people to dogpile on her. It then spread to any one they saw as representing feminism (it was a great excuse to go after Anita Sarkinson).
Maybe you had privledge (as in you aren't a woman and can ignore a lot of the not so obvious shit) and didn't get to see what was already brewing to see how it was all in gamergate and it was harder to see it at first, but it never was about shitty journalism, that was just the excuse to thinly veil the misogyny.

Also, the levelling up I think is better than Skyrim because the perk points you earn are specific to the skill you levelled up.
They are going to easily surpass Bethesda as my favorite RPG maker as they kept most of what I love about Bethesda games save some nitpicks (that I liked but Warhorse has done a good enough job I can sacrifice them.. basically I did like that you could interact with items besides just putting htem in their inventory and dropping them and I like making my own character. At least though items actually each have their own model and look like items in the world even if you drop them after picking them up). But they also excelled in stuff I really wish bethesda would do better (your choices matter more to the story, the story is so much better, it's very good writing).
Plus I love that crafting is more than just put two items together, done. They went a long way to actually make you feel like you are actually crafting the item. I know some people find that tedious but I love it (and find it tedious sometimes too lol but I'd not do without it. They should just do what they did with KCD 1. Have a perk later in the game that allows you to automake things for when you just don't want to interact with it. But I'll take not having that option over them not trying to make you actually craft the item).

Then I got in a motorcycle accident and gained way more than I lost cause I got myself back in bad habits (after getting too skinny cause I wasn't eating after the accident.. then going, ooh, have an excuse to pig out right now, but then it was hard to stop). I wonder if wegovy was around when I had just started gaining if it would have helped me get back on track to losing and keeping the weight off.
As is I'm recently back to trying to get my eating under control but sadly it took not just me not being happy taht I was back to being severely obese (cause I wasn't happy about it but I really do love food and wasn't unhappy enough to be willing to try to restrict myself again after getting back in bad habits) but my parents giving me really good financial incentive was just hte push I needed to try to stop the snowballing. Only lost 10 lbs so far but at least it seems to be going down (and better it at least isn't going up like it was before).

No huge amounts of cheese or fattening stuff other than the dressing and I think in smallish doses vinagrette isn't too bad). That has really helped to keep myself from feeling too hungry, which has helped shrink my stomach so it is even easier to feel full quickly, and it is me eating healthier then I used to (as I had no veggies before).
I hate to sound cliche about the whole joke about only eating salads when you diet about it, but the one thing I discovered is that no, I don't need to eat just salads, but they help fill up my stomach so I can have less of the more fattening things and still feel full. Plus I find it helps me appreciate the taste of the other food more.

After seeing their announcement of it, I completely understand why people thought it was just an accessory (Wii U doesn't necessarily say it's just an accessory to me so I have always thought it is a stretch to blame the name like many people do). The whole announcement they maybe only said the word console once, and kept focusing on the controller and what the controller did. They completely forgot to emphasize anything else about the console or even that it was a console, they jsut kept talking about this wonderful new controller. I almost thought they were advertising a controller too and I already knew it was a console (I had to remind myself the announcement was about the Wii U console).
And I'm going to bet a lot of their ads at the start did similar to same thing there. And with consoles how it starts really does a strong job of setting up how the rest of the generation will go.
But honestly, if you are selling a product, you do want to keep it simple so you can make it simple why people want to buy the product (people get confused easily if you get too complicated). If you already have a good strong name, telling people that this is the next of that name is a great way to keep it simple and why they should buy it. It's part of why I think Playstation has kept doing well, that name does a lot of work (It saved the PS3 when Sony botched the intro and the PS2 was helped a lot by the original Playstation building up the rep and being able to build on that rep by being the second playstation). I think Sony when it comes to names on their console may use the msot boring tact, but marketing wise I think it is the best tact. Hell, they should ahve called the Vita the PSP 2 though tbf I'm not sure that would have saved it. Vita had a lot of issues (price when it is just a handheld and Sony abandoning it right away being two big ones).

But if they changed what it was for some new gimmick... I'd have lost interest entirely (I like the switch not cause it's a nintendo but because it's a handheld/console cross. I more use it like a handheld/easily portable console so I'm a little dismayed it's bigger meaning it will be harder to pack in things <- like my switch even with case fits in my purse, I don't think I'll be able to do the same with this one).

If you go back and look at their introduction videos... they focused on the controller solely and only once mentioned at all it was a console (at the very beginning). I mean I watched the video and I had to remind myself this was a console they were selling, not a new accessory. And it wasn't the name that was confusing, it was the whole marketing push.
And first impressions matter, especially when it comes to consoles. By the time they might have realized their mistake, the more casual people already lost interest and moved on.

I think it was very smart of Sony to label the next Playstation 2, 3,etc. They had a lot of name recognition for playstation since the first one. You don't want to waste that.
Sure, it seems more creative to come up with new names. But marketing wise if you have a big hit that has made waves... you don't want to scrap all that just to make a new name, the better name when it comes to selling is the one that already has name recognition.
And to be fair, Nintendo before got away with it cause Nintendo themselves is the big name recognition. Note how many Nintendo nerds will get upset if you call a certain nintendo console, "the nintendo", i.e. "casuals" just see the Nintendo name more than the individual console name. But.... Switch got recognition even beyond Nintendo circles (it attracted a lot of people who weren't normally Nintendo fans) so it makes sense this time Nintendo doesn't want to just use their name as the recognition part.. they want to use the name that got them all the attention this time.

But other than that, he's a gamergater and that movement was 100% around sexism (even those who believed it was "truth in journalism" eventually realized how bad the movement looked... cause it was bad and it was started more cause of sexism with that as an excuse). He also has supported a Nazi musician and when caught wearing a shirt of the musician excused it by he just wanted to raise awareness of the guy's music (and I mean the guy was straight out unapologetic Nazi and killed some people).
As for the historical accuracy, I would be very careful about taking some one's word for that as it almost always just a dog whistle (this is the first time i've seen it make sense honestly). it's quite understandable why people don't believe him. But, in this particular case, especially after playing the game, I can believe that's what he truly wanted. The game is not just set back then (cause people will point out there were black people) but it's set in an area where even the few that would go in the country didn't really go (they were more in the very populated cities).
But.... in general historical accuracy or realism has been a dog whistle as an excuse why no include other genders/races. Put it this way, there are rumors there is actually a black person in Kingdom Come II and even a gay scene... some of his fans are now pissed off and calling him anti woke over it. Those are the same people that were cheering his "historical accuracy". So maybe he meant it this time, but people listening for the dog whistles absolutely believed it just meant they didn't get to have to deal with black people/diversity in their games.

It’s the fact he is a gamergater (which whole movement was just really about supporting sexism in gaming under the guise of honesty in journalism. and most people who might have honestly followed it for the journalism schtcik wised up and realized it was just sexism really). Also his favorite musician is some nazi who actually in jail for murdering people and when caught wearing a shirt while he apologized he also was like I wanted to give more exposure to his music. And he comes off from what I’ve seen like every alt right troll, enjoying pissing people off.
He just does not seem like a good person at all. And honestly I don’t see why he’s better than Rowling?
(But looking at that screenshot does have me
Wonder if he truly does just like the music and for him it doesn’t matter who the artist is but just likes the art. My problem is unless the art doesn’t touch why you dislike the person what you don’t like will be shown in the art. For example I don’t like him cause he is a gamer gatwr which makes it a lot harder to ignore the boys will be boys quest I heard is the start of kcd II). -

I mean I am guessing the problem would be both being able to get enough in space (and do we have the resources to bring that much) to have an effect and also if you can get a small amount to stay around earth that doesn't over do it to the point of just creating the opposite problem and having the earth go too cool. I'm guessing the latter problem is easier overcome by figuring out the math/physics of what exactly you'd need to get the temps you want than the problem of being able to get enough material and enough fuel/resources to get it there to actually have an effect.

So, I got convinced by a KC fan to buy KC 1 cause at least it was only 5 bux so not much of my money was going to Daniel Vavre (and I'm sure there some other fuckheads working for KC since he's director and probably gets to bring in a few people to work under him). But I admit, I really really love the game. Even though I detest him, I have to admit he knows how to make a good rpg. In fact it is one of the best action based (vs turn based) rpgs I've played (I definitely think it rates much higher than Witcher and I even like it over Elder Scrolls).
But I'm not a patient person and I love what I'm hearing about KC 2 (other than the intro quest which with combined with who directed it, will really grate on my nerves cause I'll totally be focused on its treatment of women. Usually I just roll my eyes at that kind of thing or it doesn't even bug me much but when it feels like the director is actually condoning of this kind of behavoir it's different). But part of me is going to feel guilty if I cave and buy it. But, I'm weak (I eat meat and I totally agree with the fact it's unethical both for environment and for how they treat the animals).
Anyone else have a game (or that game) that they dislike the people making it but love the game and if you bought it, how did you resolve it with yourself?

Well it's obvious they want to sabatoge the parks and make people not like them so that it is easier to just remove them. They want that land for other stuff.
