It can be easy to let slip just a little too much information in small amounts. Soon enough, there is enough info available that someone could ID you.
Maybe that could be handled on a case by case basis, because I do agree that comments should remain. Everyone is focused on old threads, but it isn't unheard of for a Reddit account to be deleted after making a high level comment on a still active thread. That can hurt the discussion and just leads to people asking for a summary or screenshot of the comment.

If it sparked that much conversation, then it is probably worthwhile.
Of course, there would need to be a "nuclear" option in the event of doxing or cyber stalking of some sort. But I'm sure that could already be done if needed.

Comment on Interrupting a Tender Moment via Improbably Aimed Barrels [D&D Game Tales] in ~games
Ven Probably for the best. Its always a shame when some hilarious and epic thing causes a campaign to die. But just imagine if you could have kept everyone coming back to the table following this....What follows is a roaring rampage of revenged that killed one PC and nearly killed another, so in the end we decided to take everything after the boss fight as a non-cannon fever dream the whole party had.

Comment on "Dungeons & Dragons" and other TTRPGs are pretty misunderstood. What questions about the hobby would you like answered by those who play? in ~games
Ven Nah, improv and rolling with the "punches" are key skills for a DM to have. If the players wanted a story on rails they could read a book or play a linear video game. D&D is a group activity, and...Of course I might just be a shitty DM, but that campaign still managed to stick together for over a year.
Nah, improv and rolling with the "punches" are key skills for a DM to have. If the players wanted a story on rails they could read a book or play a linear video game. D&D is a group activity, and is at its best when everyone is influencing the story being told. That means you, as a DM, can't possibly prepare for everything. Instead, I think a good DM prepares a bunch of generic encounters (combat/puzzle/social/etc) and uses those as a base to allow the players to fully flesh out the story.
Totally against the spirit of giving, but if you haven't played CK2 you're missing out (in my opinion of course). It can be a bit of a steep learning curve, but you can quickly find hours eaten up by it.
