My greatest accomplishment is meeting my wife, who saw the potential that I was squandering and pushed me to give higher education another shot (among many other improvements she's responsible for).

    O Brother, Where Art Thou?

My musical preferences run the gamut, but it's mostly metal and stuff in the vein of 90s alternative and I can't stand 99% of gospel, country, and bluegrass. But there's just something about the soundtrack of that movie, especially "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby."

I'd place part of the blame on how the campaigns were run and the direction our country has been going in recent years. Both Trump and Clinton were guilty of painting anyone who voted for the opposition as an irredeemable enemy to all that their supporters know and love. That blind, rabid tribalism has only grown since the election, in large part because Trump (among many, MANY others on both sides) continues to spur on the sentiment that we are a nation that is divided into us and them and there is no point in trying to heal the rift.

I do miss the setting of the earlier seasons, but my favorite thing about the series is the characters themselves, which persist no matter where and when they are. One thing that I particularly enjoyed about the show is how they developed Pam and Cheryl from "stereotypical white, chubby, ineffective head of HR" and "ditzy, loose secretary" to "irreverent she-bro who's a sleeper badass" and "batshit crazy doesn't begin to cover it."

At home, it gets a little trickier. My computer is hooked up to a 39" television and I've been using the built-in speakers, though I'm planning on acquiring some Mackie CR4 monitors soon. I use Marantz MPH-4 over-ear headphones when I need to keep the noise to myself. My wife also got an Echo Dot recently, which I have hooked up to some no-name desktop speakers I got used for $10 at a pawn shop (though I'll admit the sub has some impressive thud for its size).
