What do you guys use to listen to your music?

From speakers to earphones, how do y’all enjoy your music? I wanna find out what kind of sick rigs that we have on here but also wanna know how many of us aren’t into audio equipment but are super into music.

I’ll start! I’ve got the eternal melody EM-2 customs with a dragonfly red as a DAC that i use between my phone, PC and laptop. It’s not the most interesting or expensive rig, especially without a dedicated player but it’s the best rig i’ve had so far so i’m pretty satisfied.

G'day internet stranger. If you feel very brave, private message me your address. I will send you a pair of Grado's SR80e.

I am infinitely too broke to buy anything worth owning

My current “reasonable” wishlist consists of the Grado SR80e, at about $99.

For home, I have a set of Logitech Z623 2.1 channel speakers, 200 watts (RMS). Turning it up will get me written complaints from neighbors, so I avoid that.

For everything else, I have a Bose QC35 bluetooth headset, with active noise-cancellation. Even if it can't make every noise disappear, the reduction that it provides is really nice.

Well, here comes my insanity. I've got five speaker systems in my house. Probably a little overkill, but I enjoy the variety. When I use headphones (which is rare), I'll go from my Squeezebox Classic to my Grant Fidelity TubeDac 11 headphone output to a set of Sennheiser HD 600s. My main set-up has two sources. For vinyl, I use a Lenco L78 dropped into a Jean Nantais-style plinth with a Jelco 750D tonearm. As cartridge, I use either a Zu Denon 103 (Grade 1) or a Charisma Audio MC-1. This signal passes through Altec Lansing passive step-up transformers to my Triode Labs Au Pre Grand Preamplifier's phono section. From here the signal goes to two Triode Labs 2A3M Monoblocks and then onto a set of Tyler Acoustic PD15s. My digital set-up is served through a Squeezebox Classic into a Grant Fidelity TubeDAC 11, then the Triode Lab preamp, monoblocks, and finally speakers. Here is a link to some pictures. The pictures are from a long time ago and I know I should take pictures that highlight the beauty of this gear, but these will give you a sense of what I've described.

Have some ATH-M50s from years ago that I still love. Also, Ive been looking for box type speakers I can plug chromecast audio (aux cable) into. I have google homes already, so they play all the same sound at the same time, but I'd like to get nicer speakers as well. Any suggestions that don't break the bank, but still sound decent?

Depends what you mean by breaking the bank, but I can recommend these. They're under $100 unless you go for the 4" sub option (totally worth it). They sound great, they're not too big, and they'll...

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD380 Pro's I use - mainly at work to drown out the noise of the ole cube farm. I'd like to eventually get an external DAC to accompany the cans but for now they'll due.

Also have a pair of wireless Jaybird X 3's that I use when running. I don't really like them though, think that my old beats X were a lot better in every way when it came to practicability.

Currently using some ATH-M40x's. I got them on Amazon for about $50 a few years ago, and they've been worth every penny since. When I'm not using headphones I usually just use some computer speakers or my roommate's stereo -- no idea the specs on that though.

I'm kind of old school - my home stereo system is a bunch of Sony consumer-level components (amp, tuner, CD player, turntable, cassette deck). Bought 'em from a neighbor who was moving out about 10 years ago. For the most part I'm listening to physical media at home, not streams or files. But If I need to listen closely to anything on my computer I have professional level Sony headphones (MDR-7506) that I got from work.

Based on my answer, I'm obviously not an audiophile, but I love my Apple AirPods. I'm in an open office environment so speakers aren't an option, and I type at a keyboard all day so corded headphones were always getting in the way. The AirPods are comfortable and don't get in the way. I also often like being able to hear some of the conversations around me even while I'm listening to music, just so I can stay engaged on stuff, so I prefer an open ear design rather than blocking out the world.

One thing that annoys me about them though is the syncing with my iPhone and iPad (I use the AirPods with both). They always sync to the last device they were used with, instead of the device I'm obviously using (one device is locked and the other is in use, so it's pretty obvious which one I'm wanting to use the AirPods with). It's a bit annoying to have to go into settings and manually connect when I'm using a different device than I last used them with.

ZeroAudio Carbo Tenore as earphones on the go and in bed. Pretty notorious for being excellent in their price range.

Samson SR850 as headphones at home. Simple entry level semiopen headphones, widely recommended by audiophile groups (at least when I was choosing what to buy years ago).

Desktop: Steel Series Arctis 5, I do a lot of gaming, these are the best sounds, most comfortable USB compatible headphones with an integrated microphone I've found. They also have a 3.5 mm jack port if I want to use them with my phone and the integrated mic slides neatly into the headphone. Downside, it has gimmicky LEDs that have to be turned off via the software which only works in windows.

Mobile: Bose SoundSport, because I can't find any other earphones that stay in my ear and are comfortable.

At home, it gets a little trickier. My computer is hooked up to a 39" television and I've been using the built-in speakers, though I'm planning on acquiring some Mackie CR4 monitors soon. I use Marantz MPH-4 over-ear headphones when I need to keep the noise to myself. My wife also got an Echo Dot recently, which I have hooked up to some no-name desktop speakers I got used for $10 at a pawn shop (though I'll admit the sub has some impressive thud for its size).

I use a pair of NVX XPT100s. Got them off Amazon for ~$80-100 a few months ago and they work perfectly. Comes with large slanted pads as well, feels absolutely amazing.

While we're on the topic, I'd be interested in hearing recommendations for wireless headphones less than or equal to 100 USD.

Also have a pair of DT-770 Pros but I ended up liking the more open sound stage of the DT990s a little bit more. Using Modmic since it's a little more convenient than a desktop mic.
