Y’all, Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai had a surprisingly top tier first episode. It’s pacing was just right, fitting lots into its first 25 minutes but at the same time gave the characters time to exist and feel human. The dialogue is snappy and the premise sounds interesting - i’d really recommend everyone check it out.

I go by they with those who know that I identify as genderfluid - it’s definitely the pronoun that makes the most sense for my identity and it’s not like it’s unprecedented to use it in this setting. I find it way more comfortable than any other third gender style pronounced like ‘zir’ because it’s already in the generic lexicon.

Act II - The Father Of Death by The Protomen

The second act of a musical that’s based of the rough story of mega man, the album really brings you on a journey and I completely get lost in it quite often. It’s actual a prequel to the first act, so you can go ahead and listen to it without previous context, but the first act is also very, very good.

A good way to do it is to split the box between a playgroup! You're probably gonna want to find a playgroup before buying it anyways, so its a good way to share the burden.

If you ever get the chance to assemble a group to play Twilight Imperium, do. Playing TI4 in a closed hobby store on christmas eve was one of the more exciting experiences i’ve had playing a board game. There’s actually just so much that you can get into with the game, the scale and that time investment all comes together to create a feeling of an event that I really love whenever I get a group together to play it.

I really appreciate how this essay is able to lay out the whole situation and give us a perspective on his POV. I think seeing his struggles with this and his many mistakes really illustrates the core of the problem to me - the people creating social media networks are software engineers, not social engineers. The design and moderation of a social network platform that becomes so ubiquitous has a large hand in shaping how people interact with one another. Similar to how the medium of handwritten letters, email, text messages and instant messaging all shape how people communicate and change how they interact, social media platforms warp communication through their design.

Putting the power to shape how we communicate with one another (and by extension of that in some sense also how we think) in the hands of a cooperation whose main goal will always be to garner more profit is more dangerous than people give it credit for. That said, reading a retelling of this ongoing saga with Zuckerberg’s account of his own struggles reminds me that it isn’t exactly the fault of the company either - we gave them this power and now they have to struggle with how they choose to use it. Now it’s up to them to decide, will they change their platform to provide a basis for meaningful, truthful communication?

Two seasons as in you’ve watched up to Mother’s Rosario arc? That should be 49 episodes, 25 from S1 which covers Aincrad and Fairy Dance as well as 24 from GGO and Mother’s Rosario. If you’ve watched up to MR as well as Ordinal Scale you’re actually up to date anime wise. The recent Sword Art Online Alternative anime is a spin off and doesn’t have plot relevance to the main series. Alicization being animated was actually first teased at the end of Ordinal Scale!

Edit: Oh, didn’t realise someone else had already responded, whoops. Just gonna leave it here because I spent the time writing it already.

Having read the LNs for the Alicization arc I’m pretty hyped that we’re getting this amount of time. 4 cours should be enough that they can compress the parts that need less time and can give the really great moments the space they deserve.

I wish they’d just do a spoiler interview to be honest. They clearly had difficulty saying anything about it in a no spoiler setting and the events of the alicization arc are no secret in any case - the LNs are officially translated into english too. I’m not sure why they’re being so hush about it. I can understand wanting to do an interview for anime only viewers but most that I got out of that is that they’ve really put in a lot of effort and this is something they’re very passionate about. That’s getting me a lot more excited for the show and to see all the amazing fights being animated.

I’ve been staying up late nights to watch Revue Starlight on live telecast. It’s a mixed media project that has similarities to Love Live and Bandori - Revue is produced by Bushiroad who has hands in both and heads Bandori - but with a focus on their stage plays. The anime so far has been fantastic, with almost each episode featuring a insert song. The animation is a pleasure to watch and the story has been well constructed so far.

exactly, what i was referring to as the soul is this noir influence that Gibson’s work has and how its inspired other contributors to the canon of cyberpunk works. The MC’s charactisation is also quite far off the mark in this respect, noir isn’t about the ‘young anarchist power fantasy’ that the MC currently evokes.

I'm among the crowd that didn't like the trailer for the game, I felt the aesthetic was missing the soul of the cyberpunk genre and the MC's characterisation was grating to be honest. But what literally every games outlet said about their closed doors previews was really encouraging and I found the explanation for going with a daytime portrayal in their trailer to be reasonable. Still going to hold my hype but I am definitely excited to see what this game is going to be.

I think his views come from an experience in a method of content creation that works well at creating scale - the more things you have floating out there the more audience can reach by virtue of just being able to cover more interests. Large ‘Influencers’ tend to follow this framework but don’t agree that every content creator should work like that. Though I don’t think he’s entirely wrong, if your goal is to garner a huge audience a consistent release schedule is something countless content creators have sworn by.

It seems like the two groups get a bit conflated as of now, maybe the current description doesn’t exactly set the distinction strictly enough?
