Definitely. I'll throw Tricky - Maxinquaye (1995) into the mix to complete the 90's Bristol trifecta.

These protesters are a vocal minority of resident homeowners in Vancouver's exceedingly exclusive Point Grey neighbourhood. They are protesting an increase in taxation for homes valued at over 3 million dollars as "unfair", because it is only applied to high-value homes. Interestingly, this additional tax can be deferred until the homeowner sells the home if they are 55 years of age or older and use the home as their primary residence.

Five personal favourites off the top of my head, in chronological order:

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (1991)
Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993)
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral (1994)
Underworld - Second Toughest in the Infants (1996)
    Massive Attack - Mezzanine (1998)

Really though, there are so, so many stunning albums that came out during that decade. Pretty sure that I could easily add another 20-30 to these five with a little more thought.

Edit: I accidentally a whole word.

Oh man. Thanks. Yeah, I was super bummed out about it, especially after I talked to the people that I gave the tickets to and they told me how awesome it was.

Yeah, it's a good name for sure. :-) Great band too, if you're into what they do.

Last month I saw Fever Ray put on a great show. I had tickets to Carpenter Brut, but missed the show on account of work and was super pissed off about it. I also had tickets to Tricky, but the show was cancelled because he had issues at the CDN/US border from what I heard.

This month I'm really excited to see A Place to Bury Strangers, and there's no way that work will screw me out of this show.

A Place to Bury Strangers - Pinned has been getting heavy rotation for me this week; really looking forward to the live show later this month.

I'm @konketsu, and have been on reddit for almost 10 years under the same handle. I'm an early 40's music/audio/tech deviant from the shadowy urban decay of Canada's West Coast. I'm a married straight male misanthrope that is into William Gibson, techno/synthwave and the machines that make it, analog and digital photography, craft beer, cooking and subverting the dominant culture.

Hey, thanks dude. Definitely an interesting path, though I still wonder what my life would have been like had I gone to Law school like I meant to when I was a student.

Cheers, man. the music career isn't easy for sure, and isn't for everyone. Burn out is high, the hours can really suck and for a lot of people the financial reality simply doesn't make it worth while.

Keys/Bass/Gtr over here, but play a mean drum machine as well. Ran two recording studios, made some records, and then took a full time gig at a university because benefits, pension and 5 weeks paid vacation don't suck at all. Miss the studio work a lot, but still do concert sound on occasion.

First post after registering. Hello world.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist/sound tech. Play keys, bass and gtr in order of preference and proficiency. Also pretty good with a mixing console and racks of outboard. Came close when I was younger but never made it to the A-list of performers, now I'm a grumpy studio/stage sound guy.
