I'll probably hop into affliction halfway through just to try the most busted stuff but I think overall it'll be an off league for me

I do think it's very interesting though, that your opening argument is to discuss the original intent of the Supreme Court. And then, the main critique you have of the current situation is the adherence and worship of the founders and their writings.
As I said, I do think the Supreme Court is currently not very democratic, but I feel like that the lack of the will of the people should be the focal point, rather than what the founders intentioned for the court.

They're simply changing so many approaches that poe1 has had for it's entire history that they have to make poe2 separate. No crafting bench, support gems don't add much damage, power/frenzy/endurance charges are spenders not buffs, flasks are purely reactive rather than a buff.
It's pretty much to the point where I'm not even excited for poe2 as "the next big thing for poe". It's simply it's own game that just happens to borrow a lot of ideas and names from poe1.

If you're interested in continuing to try the genre, my personal favorite is Hollow Knight. Just as much exploration as Ori, but the combat feels miles better and the movement is a bit more traditional.

I agree with some of the other comments about how the characterization is really good and seeing the growth brings a lot of value.
Personally though, I really feel that a key aspect of the season wasn't so much how the main character changed, but more how the series did an exemplary job of setting up the villains, and getting me to enjoy their comeuppance. The fact of the matter is that in this type of story the main character will never lose. That's simply the genre, and action stories in general. So authors need to find ways to introduce tension and make their audience think that the hero could lose (even thought they won't). Or, they can do what I think Mount Hua does amazingly, and make it extremely fun to watch the villains lose, even though I know it's going to happen.
Overall a very fun read, thanks for the rec! -

Beastieball
A creature-catcher volleyball rpg? And somehow those three genres actually work together? I've always enjoyed the hell out of Pokémon, but have been skipping the latest few releases so I was pretty interested in this game from the trailer and I think the demo does a great job of selling it. The music is awesome, and somehow reminiscent of the Pokémon Red/Yellow/Blue music while still being very modern. The battles don't have type match ups like Pokémon, but I think the strategy they do have with placing your beasties on the court along with having multiple beasties with multiple "moves" in a turn will end up being really deep. They also show you a world map with a bunch of other coaches (gyms?) to fight before the demo ended so I don't think it'll lack for content. Overall, I'm pretty excited for it and am really looking forward to where they go with this.Wizard with a Gun
I genuinely don't know what category this game falls into. Framework wise it's similar to Don't Starve, but with expeditions from an off-map safe space rather than a base camp. Gameplay wise you're, well, a wizard who uses a gun to cast spells. I really liked the gameplay, combat was a very common occurence and it felt very impactful to both hit and get hit. The resource management of the expeditions was also nice, you can't just go guns blazing all the time and it was fun to think about it. It also feels like the sort of thing that'll get solved once you have a larger arsenal so if you don't like resource management I don't think it'll be a huge issue. There was also a whole bullet crafting system that was mostly walled off, so I can't speak to that except to say it exists. From playing the demo though the content felt rather limited. Each expedition has a time limit before the world starts ending, roughly 5 minutes. You could enter each one as many times as you wanted, but there were basically 3 different maps that you only needed to enter twice to clear. To me it feels like the sort of game that will be much more fun with friends, and it's single player will live and die on how much content they get in there. They absolutely have the systems in place to make a banger of a game, they just need to follow through.Isle of Eleanor
Not my thing. I tried it for about half an hour thinking it was a Stardew-like and while it has a farming/life-sim aspect to it, that aspect was barely able to show itself. To me, the game felt clunky and unintuitive. Too much real life in the life-sim, tools were slow to use, the people were unfriendly, nothing was explained to you. I get the feeling that it's the sort of game that will be rewarding to those who put in the hours, but that's not me and the demo didn't change my mind about that.
Maybe I'm reading into this too much as a Zillenial myself, but I feel like your comment is a bit off base. I don't think you can draw a connection like that between drugs, sex, and internet content. Correlation isn't causation. Maybe gen Z is having less sex because they're consuming more porn on the internet. Maybe due to differing ideas on consent, as another commenter mentioned. Or maybe it's just cause the internet isn't young anymore. Shock and awe videos like what OP described are a dime a dozen, and can't be monetized anyways. I think the line of 'Gen Z are prudes' doesn't even begin to address some of the potential reasons there might be for this shift in humor.
Your tangent does not help your case either. It makes you look like someone who goes 'millenials killed the diamond market'. You say, in a nutshell, 'we're going to return to cultural conservatism (bad) and that's the fault of the young people'. It just feels like all of the other generic 'young people bad' claims, and it undermines any points your first paragraph may have.
