I'm so frustrated with the Red Cross, they would call me ALL the time.

In my area, there is a local blood bank and Red Cross. When they used to have a donation center in my county, I would split my whole blood donation visits between them. Now, Red Cross stopped doing donations in my county and their closest option is 25 miles away.

Every time they have called me since, I tell them if they do donations in the city near me, then I will schedule something. I just realized they have stopped calling about 2 months ago. Now I visit the local blood bank every 2 months for a donation.

    Something unexplained.

My grandfather was in the end stages of lung cancer, and I lived 6 hours away.

The night he passed, at about 3 am, I woke up completely chilled to the bone. I mean shivering, couldn't get warm. I had to get another blanket and turn on a space heater and I was still cold.

That morning, around 6 am, my mother called to tell me my grandfather had died in the middle of the night.

I just got a new set from the VA yesterday, they are an upgrade from my old ones.

They are rechargeable and have built in bluetooth. I love the things. The old ones I needed to wear a device like a big necklace to connect them. I listen to audiobooks thru them all the time.

The only drawback is they try to adjust settings based on background noise. They have like a restaurant, music and TV setting. I was walking thru a grocery store today, and the bad music from the speakers and loud carts would trigger different settings, it was slightly disconcerting.

The fresh flow one I linked is so much easier to clean. The cat mate one has a few more angles and the tube that the water flows up is more of a pain to clean by hand. The cat mate one really needs to be run thru the dishwasher to get fully clean.

I would also assume the needs are going to go down for a lot of things.

If we look at trends, many people switched from incandescent to LED. My phone is more powerful than my PC of 15 years ago, running from a small battery. A low wattage Raspberry Pi is as powerful as my desktop from 10 years ago.

Heat pump usages looks to be increasing, taking less power for heating and cooling. California is seeing most of its mid day needs met by solar (https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=56880), now if that curve deepens into a surplus, we just need to learn how to store it and we have power to put into vehicles.

WTF are they thinking with Ezra Miller? They have known for a while Ezra is a problem.

I absolutely refuse to pay a cent to watch a movie with Ezra in it.
