The idea itself isn’t novel but the execution is well done, it has a way of building tension and getting the viewer excited about the next episode. Good character development and world building. The last episode of season 1 mostly wrapped things up so I was surprised to see there is a season 2. Haven’t started that yet.

I don’t speak or understand Korean so I had the subs on as well, still with that limitation I got a good feel for the actors’ performances and was generally impressed. For me, what made the movie was the contrast in every day life for both families, how one struggles so heavily while the other is living comfortably. Some of those scenes were just beautifully shot and put together, the scenes with the rain were particularly good. The other thing i appreciated was the complexity/layers of the overall theme. Who is the parasite? Is there one or many? Since the characters were complex and not necessarily likable, the answer kept changing throughout the movie and I still kept thinking of it after I finished watching.

Then a year or two later, they launched a “platinum” online savings account which was essentially the same thing but with a better APY. The old “HY” account was left with a lower APY - I called and asked why anyone would want the old account and they couldn’t give me an answer. But it was still available as a choice when opening a new account.

I was born right around this time, but never got a chance to see it, although I am of course acquainted with Bill Murray. Groundhog Day is one of my favorites. I have to say, however, that this was largely a miss for me. The Bill Murray character is very unlikable, I don’t know if that’s necessarily what they were going for. I imagine he’s supposed to be a fun “class clown” type persona, but it really falls flat. I was expecting a montage of sorts where he learns his lesson and stops being selfish, a sort of redemption arc. But it doesn’t really happen instead the movie just sort of keeps going aimlessly. Bright spots were Harold Ramis as the likable best friend and John Candy as a sensitive, but dangerous oaf.
A few things I was not expecting: there is a fair amount of gratuitous nudity, which was not unwelcome. However, along with that came a certain sleaziness, especially around Bill Murray’s characters’ interactions with women, which has aged poorly and left a bad taste in my mouth. -

I suppose it could hurt if you overdo it, and try for like 5 cards every year, but there are built in limits (some banks will deny you if you opened another account recently for example). Some people get around it by having business accounts and personal accounts. There’s also a limit on how much you can reasonably spend, although there strategies for that as well.
With regards to mortgages, all you need is credit score of 760+. You won’t get a better rate if your score is 765, 800 or 850 unfortunately. If someone’s score is borderline and they plan on buying a house, then yeah it doesn’t make sense to open new lines of credit.
If you pay your bills on time every time and have several accounts in good standing you’ll get excellent credit. Ironically enough, if you completely avoid opening credit cards you’ll end up with poor credit and won’t be able to get a good mortgage. Happened to my buddy who thought he was being smart by avoiding credit cards (he did trust himself to use it responsibly ). What he should have done is opened the card, used it once a year, pay the statement balance and keep it hidden in drawer.

At the end of the day, your payment history is the bulk of the score. Always good to remember not to open accounts right before getting a mortgage or car loan, but otherwise don’t sweat it. I do this twice a year and my score is 800+

But there’s something special about playing the original hardware on an old crt tv. It takes me back to being a kid. I just like looking at them as well, even if I’m not playing it. Oh, and extra points for being able to use light guns.

The rest is just spending (which you do already). it’s helpful to get the card before a big expense like the other comments mentioned. You could pay your car insurance, for example. I usually redeem the rewards for $500 worth of gift cards. $500 for an hours work is pretty good. Also remember to cancel before the year is up if there is an annual fee (I make a note on my calendar).

They are more expensive but I hate throwing away batteries and have so many devices that use them, so I figure it’s cheaper in the long run. I also have several eneloop rechargeables that are holding on after probably 10 years of use; they don’t do as well for high drain devices but work fine for remotes or kids toys.

As for it being taken back, that is a chance with credit cards too.

Does the “provisional credit” allow for spending/withdrawal? Will checks bounce because of the fraudulent activity? Will bank fees get triggered? Even if the provisional credit counts like real money, there’s going to be a chance of the claim not being resolved, a concern that may hang over a persons head and cause anxiety.

The /r/mexico sub absolutely hates this film, it really struck a nerve. At first I didn’t get it bc I thought it was a Mexican movie, but from reading the above comments, I can see where they’re coming from.
