If you're a lyrics person, their discography is amazing and full of great stories and insights of everyday life. If you're more into the sound, their music has great melodies and harmonies, and reaches out across timelines and genres.

"Welcome Interstate Managers" is the album that stands out to me (and probably most people). It has the previously mentioned single, but is absolutely full of great songs. Mexican Wine is catchy and fun and Valley Winter Song is my headspace song whenever I want to "go home to New England" where I grew up. It's a perfect winter vibe.

"Traffic and Weather" is my second favorite album. I particularly like Yolanda Hayes and Someone to Love.

The book is a really fun, but dark read. It’s Stephen King, so the less you know going in, the better in my opinion. The movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger was also great fun, but a completely different story and experience. It was mind numbing, popcorn eating, 80s action in the best way. My friends and I call them “good bad” movies (so bad they’re good).

This trailer makes it look like the new movie splits the difference, and I don’t really know if it’s in a good way. It keeps the gritty action and dark themes of the first book but there’s no way the plot will cover the same ground needed to make the same impact the book did. On the other side, most of the silliness and fun of the 80s movie looks like it’s missing.

“They sure don’t make em like they used to!!!” Which I guess just means I’m getting old.

I’m definitely not an anti-vax person, got both flu and Covid this week. That said, why wouldn’t we suspect the same mechanism to exist in both the virus and the vaccine to bring out Alzheimer’s?...

That said, why wouldn’t we suspect the same mechanism to exist in both the virus and the vaccine to bring out Alzheimer’s? Viruses and vaccines are inherently similar. Seems like we know little enough that this isn’t yet actionable info.

From the article One theory would be that this move benefits Valve because they’ve determined the threat of mass arbitration to be worse than the threat of a class action that goes to court.

    From the article

So why would Valve do this? It may be a response to several law firms’ attempt to file “mass arbitrations,” wherein “hundreds or thousands of consumers bringing individual arbitration claims against the same company at the same time and over the same issue,” according to ClassAction.org. It’s essentially a loophole for class action waivers and arbitration clauses, though it still won’t end up in court. ClassAction.org, a class-action watchdog website, called it a “relatively new” way to take on corporations for consumer disputes. Several law firms have pursued this option, one of which was sued by Valve for allegedly attempting to “extort” the company with a threat of mass arbitration with more than 50,000 people. (This lawsuit was dismissed in August without prejudice, meaning Valve could re-file.)
